Abstract

In a particular embodiment, a method of presenting assets related to media content includes receiving data indicating a selection of a selectable trigger from a destination device and identifying video content associated with the selectable trigger. The method further includes providing an electronic storefront to the destination device in response to the data indicating the selection of the selectable trigger. A plurality of assets related to the video content can be purchased via the electronic storefront. The plurality of assets includes at least a first asset type and a second asset type.

Claims

1. A method of presenting assets related to media content, the method comprising:

receiving data indicating a selection of a selectable trigger from a destination device;

identifying video content associated with the selectable trigger; and

providing an electronic storefront to the destination device in response to the data indicating the selection of the selectable trigger, wherein a plurality of assets related to the video content can be purchased via the electronic storefront and wherein the plurality of assets includes at least a first asset type and a second asset type.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the electronic storefront includes a plurality of different purchase options related to the plurality of assets.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving data related to a selection of one of the plurality of assets and data related to a selection of one of the plurality of different purchase options.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the first asset type and the second asset type include at least one physical asset and at least one electronic asset.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the at least one physical asset includes an article of clothing.

6. The method of claim 4, wherein the at least one electronic asset includes a computer image, a ring tone for a mobile device, an audio file, or a game.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the data is received from a video content source indicating an identification of the video content associated with the selectable trigger.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the video content is identified based on the data indicating the selection of the selectable trigger

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the destination device is identified based on the data indicating the selection of the selectable trigger and wherein the electronic storefront includes at least one asset that is targeted to a user associated with the destination device.

10. A method of presenting assets related to media content, the method comprising:

receiving selected media content from a content source, the selected media content including a selectable trigger associated with an electronic storefront;

receiving a selection of the selectable trigger;

sending data related to the selection to a server system adapted to provide the electronic storefront; and

receiving a graphical user interface including the electronic storefront, wherein a plurality of assets related to the selected media content can be purchased via the electronic storefront and wherein the plurality of assets includes at least a first asset type and a second asset type.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the selectable trigger comprises a selectable graphical element.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the selectable graphical element comprises an image related to the selected media content.

13. The method of claim 10, further comprising:

receiving a second selection related to one of the plurality of assets;

providing a plurality of payment options related to the selected one of the plurality of assets; and

receiving a payment option selection.

14. The method of claim 10, wherein the electronic storefront comprises a website having purchasable assets.

15. The method of claim 10, wherein the selection is received from a remote control device.

16. A system to present assets related to media content, the system comprising:

a server system having processing logic and memory accessible to the processing logic, wherein the memory includes instructions executable by the processing logic to;

receive data indicating a selection of a selectable trigger from a destination device;

identify video content associated with the selectable trigger; and

provide an electronic storefront to the destination device in response to the data indicating the selection of the selectable trigger, wherein a plurality of assets related to the video content can be purchased via the electronic storefront and wherein the plurality of assets includes at least a first asset type and a second asset type.

17. The system of claim 16, further comprising an interface to a network, wherein the logic provides the electronic storefront to the destination device via the interface.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the network comprises a private access network of an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) system.

19. The system of claim 16, wherein the server system comprises a content source to provide media content.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein the server system further comprises a storefront server separate from the content source.

21. The method of claim 16, wherein the electronic storefront includes a plurality of different purchase options related to the plurality of assets.

22. The method of claim 21, wherein the plurality of different purchase options includes a first option to purchase the video content for a one-time viewing, a second option to purchase the video content for a period of time, and a third option to purchase the video content at a discounted rate.

23. The method of claim 21, wherein the plurality of different purchase options includes a first option to purchase the video content by debiting a subscriber account, a second option to purchase the video content by charging a credit card, and a third option to purchase the video content using a coupon or code.

24. The method of claim 16, wherein the first asset type comprises a physical asset and the second asset type comprises an electronic asset.

25. The method of claim 24, wherein the physical asset comprises an article of clothing.

26. A set-top box device, comprising:

a processor and a memory accessible to the processor, the memory including instructions executable by the processor to perform a method including;

receiving selected media content from a content source, the selected media content including a selectable trigger associated with an electronic storefront;

receiving a selection of the selectable trigger;

sending data related to the selection to a server system adapted to provide the electronic storefront; and

receiving a graphical user interface including the electronic storefront, wherein a plurality of assets related to the selected media content can be purchased via the electronic storefront and wherein the plurality of assets includes at least a first asset type and a second asset type.

27. The set-top box device of claim 26, wherein the selectable trigger comprises an image related to the selected media content.

28. The set-top box device of claim 26, wherein the graphical user interface includes a plurality of payment options related to the selected one of the plurality of assets.

29. The set-top box device of claim 26, further comprising a remote control interface responsive to a remote control device to receive input selections.

30. A processor-readable medium comprising processor executable instructions to perform a method of presenting assets related to media content, the method comprising:

receiving data indicating a selection of a selectable trigger from a destination device;

identifying video content associated with the selectable trigger; and

providing an electronic storefront to the destination device in response to the data indicating the selection of the selectable trigger, wherein a plurality of assets related to the video content can be purchased via the electronic storefront and wherein the plurality of assets includes at least a first asset type and a second asset type.

31. The processor-readable medium of claim 30, wherein the electronic storefront includes a plurality of different purchase options related to the plurality of assets, wherein at least one of the plurality of different purchase options includes an option to charge a subscriber account associated with private access network of an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) system.

32. The method of claim 30, wherein the first asset type and the second asset type include at least one physical asset and at least one electronic asset.
