Abstract

A hanging liquid dispenser is provided that includes a pump and valving for delivering the fluid material when the dispenser is operated by the user in a controlled fashion. The hanging dispenser includes a main body that serves as a fluid reservoir and has an eyelet formed therein which is suitable for use in hanging the dispenser from a suitable support. In addition to including the ability to hang, the dispenser preferably includes a pump for metered dosing of the fluid within the dispenser wherein operation of the pump delivers a controlled volume of the fluid as desired by the user.

Claims

1. A fluid dispensing device, comprising:

a fluid reservoir having a main body and containing a fluid;

a fluid conduit extending from said fluid reservoir to allow selective dispensing of the fluid within the fluid reservoir; and

means for hanging the fluid dispensing device.

2. The fluid dispensing device of claim 1, further comprising:

a metered dispensing pump disposed between the fluid reservoir and the fluid conduit and in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir, the dispensing pumps configured and arranged for outputting a measured amount of fluid from the fluid reservoir; and

an exit aperture through which the metered dispensing pump delivers the output fluid to the fluid conduit for dispensing.

3. The fluid dispensing device of claim 2, the metered dispensing pump comprising:

a flexible metering housing, having a metering chamber therein with a predetermined volume, disposed in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir;

a first valve disposed between the fluid reservoir and the flexible metering housing to permit unidirectional fluid flow from the fluid reservoir into the metering chamber thereby filling the predetermined volume of the metering chamber, the flexible metering housing further including a metering housing output port; and

a second valve, having a second valve output port, in fluid communication with the mixing chamber and permitting unidirectional fluid flow of a volume of fluid substantially equal to the predetermined volume of the metering chamber from the metering chamber into the fluid conduit via the second valve output port.

4. The fluid dispensing device of claim 1 wherein the means for hanging the device is an aperture formed in the main body.

6. The fluid dispensing device of claim 1 wherein the means for hanging the device is a hook formed in the main body.

7. The fluid dispensing device of claim 1, further comprising:

a plurality of fluid storage reservoirs formed within the main body; and

a corresponding plurality of metered dosing pumps each in fluid communication with one of the plurality of fluid storage reservoirs.

8. The fluid dispensing device of claim 7, wherein the fluid in each of the fluid storage reservoirs is the same.

9. The fluid dispensing device of claim 7, wherein the fluid in each of the fluid storage reservoirs is different.

10. The fluid dispensing device of claim 9, wherein the fluid output is mixed as it passes through the exit aperture.

11. The fluid dispensing device of claim 7, wherein the plurality of metered dispensing pumps are positioned adjacent one another such that a user depresses them simultaneously.

5. The fluid dispensing device of claim 5 wherein the means for hanging the device further includes a hook extending through the aperture in the main body.
