Abstract

A sensor product for electric field sensing. The sensor includes a substrate, at least one electrically conductive area on the surface of the substrate, an output, and at least one conductor between the at least one electrically conductive area and the output. Also a sensor product web.

11. A sensor product web for electric field sensing, the sensor comprising:

a substrate;

sequential electrically conductive areas on the surface of the substrate;

conductors on the surface of the substrate, the conductors being parallel to each other and extending in the longitudinal direction of the sensor product web, wherein only one electrically conductive area is in contact with one conductor in a longitudinal length of the sensor product web, wherein a maximum number of the electrically conductive areas is the same as a maximum number conductors; and

an output connected to one of the electrically conductive areas by one of the conductors.

12. The sensor product web according to claim 11, wherein the electrically conductive areas comprise a printed or coated layer.

13. The sensor product web according claim 11, wherein the electrically conductive areas comprise a plastic layer or a fibrous layer.

14. The sensor product web according to claim 11, wherein the electrically conductive areas and the conductors comprise metal, conductive carbon, or electrically conductive polymers.

15. The sensor product web according to claim 11, wherein the substrate is a film comprising plastic material, paper, or board.

16. The sensor product web according to claim 11, further comprising:

a top layer comprising a film of plastic material, paper, or board, or a dielectric coating.

17. A sensor product web for electric field sensing, the sensor comprising:

a substrate;

sequential electrically conductive areas on the surface of the substrate;

conductors;

an output connected to the electrically conductive area by one of the conductors; and

a via extending through the substrate, forming an electrically conductive path connecting the electrically conductive area to the output by the conductor on a reverse surface of the substrate.

18. The sensor product web according to claim 17, wherein the electrically conductive path comprises electrically conductive ink.

19. The sensor product web according to claim 17, wherein the electrically conductive area comprises a printed or coated layer.

20. The sensor product web according to claim 17, wherein the electrically conductive area comprises a plastic layer, or a fibrous layer.

21. The sensor product web according to claim 17, wherein the electrically conductive area and the conductor comprise metal, conductive carbon, or electrically conductive polymers.

22. The sensor product web according to claim 17, wherein the substrate is a film comprising plastic material, paper, or board.

23. The sensor product web according to claim 17, wherein the sensor product comprises a top layer comprising a film of plastic material, paper, or board, or a dielectric coating.

24. A sensor product web for electric field sensing, the sensor comprising:

a substrate;

sequential electrically conductive areas on the surface of the substrate;

conductors;

an output connected to one of the electrically conductive areas by one of the conductors;

a dielectric layer arranged on top of the conductors; and

an electrically conductive layer arranged on top of the dielectric layer on a same surface of the substrate as the electrically conductive areas, the dielectric layer being discontinuous at the conductor which is in contact with the electrically conductive area.

25. The sensor product web according to claim 24, wherein the electrically conductive area comprises a printed or coated layer.

26. The sensor product web according to claim 24, wherein the electrically conductive area comprises a plastic layer, or a fibrous layer.

27. The sensor product web according to claim 24, wherein the electrically conductive area and the conductor comprise metal, conductive carbon, or electrically conductive polymers.

28. The sensor product web according to claim 24, wherein the sensor product comprises a top layer comprising a film of plastic material, paper, or board, or a dielectric coating.
