Abstract

An electronic device operable with a radio frequency identification device operable with a detector logic and a method for operating the electronic device with a radio frequency identification device and a detector logic is provided. Firstly, a detection event is registered by the detector logic. The detected event relates to an operation of the radio frequency identification device, which is applicable to transmit data to a counterpart radio frequency identification device. A detection signal is generated and issued by the detector logic in response to the registering and detection event, respectively, which detection signal is received by the electronic device. Then, the electronic device initiates one or more operations in response to the receiving of the detection signal.

Claims

1. Radio frequency identification device comprising at least a radio frequency interface along with an antenna and a controller logic, wherein said radio frequency interface is adapted to receive a radio frequency interrogating signal, in response to which said controller logic supplies data to said radio frequency interface to transmit a radio frequency response signal carrying said data,

wherein said radio frequency identification device comprises additionally a detector logic which is adapted to provide a detection signal responsive to a detected event relating to an operation of the radio frequency identification device.

2. Device according to claim 1, wherein said detected event comprises at least one out of a group of detection events including:

receiving of said interrogating signal by said radio frequency interface;

energizing said radio frequency identification device in response to said receiving of said interrogating signal

supplying of said data to said radio frequency interface in response to said receiving of said interrogating signal;

transmitting said radio frequency response signal via said antenna; and

attenuating said radio frequency identification device subsequent to said transmitting of said radio frequency response signal.

3. Device according to claim 1, wherein said radio frequency identification device is operable with radio frequency identification reader functionality and radio frequency identification transponder functionality.

4. Device according to claim 3, wherein said radio frequency identification device is operable with radio frequency identification transponder functionality to emulate a radio frequency identification transponder.

5. Device according to claim 1, wherein said detector logic is provided integrally to one of said radio frequency interface, said antenna and said controller logic of said radio frequency identification device.

6. Device according to claim 1, wherein said radio frequency identification device comprises a configurable data storage.

7. Detector logic for a radio frequency identification device, which is operable with a radio frequency identification device and is adapted to provide a detection signal responsive to a detected event relating to an operation of the radio frequency identification device.

8. Logic according to claim 7, wherein said detected event comprises at least one out of a group of detection events including:

receiving of an interrogating signal by a radio frequency interface;

energizing said radio frequency identification device in response to said receiving of said interrogating signal

supplying of data to said radio frequency interface in response to said receiving of said interrogating signal;

transmitting said radio frequency response signal carrying said data via an antenna; and

attenuating said radio frequency identification device subsequent to said transmitting of said radio frequency response signal.

9. Logic according to claim 7, wherein said radio frequency identification device is operable with radio frequency identification reader functionality and radio frequency identification transponder functionality.

10. Logic according to claim 7, wherein said radio frequency identification device is operable with radio frequency identification transponder functionality to emulate a radio frequency identification transponder.

11. Logic according to claim 7, wherein said detector logic is provided integrally to said radio frequency identification device and in particular with one of a radio frequency interface, an antenna and a controller logic of said radio frequency identification device.

12. Logic according to claim 7, wherein said detector logic comprises a radio frequency interface with an antenna, wherein said radio frequency interface is operable at one or more radio frequencies, at which said radio frequency identification device is operable.

33. Logic according to claim 8, wherein said radio frequency identification device is operable with radio frequency identification reader functionality and radio frequency identification transponder functionality.

34. Logic according to claim 8, wherein said radio frequency identification device is operable with radio frequency identification transponder functionality to emulate a radio frequency identification transponder.

35. Logic according to claim 8, wherein said detector logic is provided integrally to said radio frequency identification device and in particular with one of a radio frequency interface, an antenna and a controller logic of said radio frequency identification device.

36. Logic according to claim 8, wherein said detector logic comprises a radio frequency interface with an antenna, wherein said radio frequency interface is operable at one or more radio frequencies, at which said radio frequency identification device is operable.

13. Electronic device operable with a radio frequency identification device and a detector logic, wherein said electronic device comprises:

a detection signal input to receive said detection signal issued by said detector logic in response to a detected event relating to an operation of said radio frequency identification device employed for transmitting data; and

the capability of one or more operations,

wherein said electronic device is adapted to perform said one or more operations in response to receiving said detection signal.

Electronic device according to claim 13, comprising one or more associations between several contexts and a plurality of operations, wherein said associations enable said electronic device to select said one or more operations from said plurality of operations, wherein said one or more operations are associated with a current operational context of said electronic device.

15. Electronic device according to claim 13, wherein said detected event comprises at least one out of a group of events including:

receiving of an interrogating signal by a radio frequency interface;

energizing said radio frequency identification device in response to said receiving of said interrogating signal

supplying of data to said radio frequency interface in response to said receiving of said interrogating signal;

transmitting a radio frequency response signal carrying said data via an antenna; and

attenuating said radio frequency identification device subsequent to said transmitting of said radio frequency response signal.

16. Electronic device according to claim 13, wherein said one or more operations are predefined and in particular, said one or more operations relate to services and/or applications.

17. Electronic device according to claim 13, wherein said operational context is obtainable from a type information about said data, which is transmitted by said radio frequency identification device, wherein in particular said type information relates to contents of said data.

18. Electronic device according to claim 13, wherein said operational context is obtainable from context information defining said operational context.

19. Electronic device according to claim 13, wherein said context information is provided by external source entities and/or said context information is obtainable on the basis of information provided by said external source entities.

20. Electronic device according to claim 13, wherein said electronic device is a portable consumer electronic device, in particular a processor-based device and more particularly a terminal device.

System comprising a electronic device, a radio frequency identification device and a detector logic, wherein said electronic device is an electronic device according to claim 13, wherein said radio frequency identification device is a radio frequency identification device, comprising at least a radio frequency interface along with an antenna and a controller logic, wherein said radio frequency interface is adapted to receive a radio frequency interrogating signal, in response to which said controller logic supplies data to said radio frequency interface to transmit a radio frequency response signal carrying said data, and wherein said radio frequency identification device comprises additionally a detector logic which is adapted to provide a detection signal responsive to a detected event relating to an operation of the radio frequency identification device, and wherein said detector logic is adapted to provide a detection signal responsive to a detected event relating to an operation of the radio frequency identification device.

37. Electronic device according to claim 14, wherein said detected event comprises at least one out of a group of events including:

receiving of an interrogating signal by a radio frequency interface;

energizing said radio frequency identification device in response to said receiving of said interrogating signal

supplying of data to said radio frequency interface in response to said receiving of said interrogating signal;

transmitting a radio frequency response signal carrying said data via an antenna; and

attenuating said radio frequency identification device subsequent to said transmitting of said radio frequency response signal.

22. Method for operating an electronic device operable with a radio frequency identification device operable with a detector logic, comprising:

detecting an event by said detector logic, wherein said detected event relates to an operation of said radio frequency identification device employed for transmitting data;

issuing a detection signal by said detector logic in response to said detection event;

receiving said detection signal by said electronic device; and

performing one or more operations in response to said receiving of said detection signal.

23. Method according to claim 22, comprising selecting said one or more operations from a plurality of operations on the basis of a current operational context, wherein one or more associations are provided, which associate several contexts with said plurality of operations.

24. Method according to claim 22, wherein said detected event comprises at least one out of a group of events including:

receiving of an interrogating signal by a radio frequency interface;

energizing said radio frequency identification device in response to said receiving of said interrogating signal

supplying of said data to said radio frequency interface in response to said receiving of said interrogating signal;

transmitting a radio frequency response signal by said radio frequency identification device via a antenna coupled to said radio frequency interface; and

attenuating said radio frequency identification device subsequent to said transmitting of said radio frequency response signal.

25. Method according to claim 22, wherein said one or more operations are predefined and in particular, said one or more operations relate to service and/or applications operable with said electronic device.

26. Method according to claim 22, further comprising:

obtaining said operational context from a type information about said data, which is transmitted by said radio frequency identification device, wherein in particular said type information relates to contents of said data.

27. Method according to claim 23, comprising obtaining context information, on the basis of which said operational context is definable.

28. Method according to claim 27, further comprising at least one of said operations:

obtaining information from an external source entity, wherein said obtained information serves as said context information; and

obtaining said information from said external source entity and analyzing said obtained information to obtain said context information.

Computer program product for executing a method for continuous data provision by a radio frequency identification transponder, comprising program code sections for carrying out the steps of claim 22, when said program is run on a controller, processor-based device, a computer, a microprocessor based device, a terminal, a network device, a mobile terminal or a mobile communication enabled terminal.

Computer program product for executing a method for continuous data provision by a radio frequency identification transponder, comprising program code sections stored on a machine-readable medium for carrying out the steps of claim 22, when said program product is run on a controller, processor-based device, a computer, a microprocessor based device, a terminal, a network device, a mobile terminal, or a mobile communication enabled terminal.

31. Software tool for continuous data provision by a radio frequency identification transponder, comprising program portions for carrying out the operations of claim 22, when said program is implemented in a computer program for being executed on a controller, processor-based device, a microprocessor based device, processing device, a terminal device, a network device, a mobile terminal, or a mobile communication enabled terminal.

32. Computer data signal embodied in a carrier wave and representing instructions, which when executed by a processor cause the steps of claim 22 to be carried out.
