Abstract

The medical lead delivery device more easily and quickly delivers a lead to or through the coronary vein of a patient'"'"'s heart. The medical lead delivery device includes an elongated body, a controller, a first and second spring, and a sleeve. The elongated body includes a proximal end and a distal end. The controller is disposed at the proximal end and provides enhanced control of the distal tip of the elongated body.

Claims

1. A medical lead delivery device for delivering a lead to a left coronary vein comprising:

a single elongated body that includes a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the;

a slideable controller disposed at the proximal end of the elongated body, the controller configured to be removable from the elongated body;

a first and second spring coupled to the distal end of the elongated body; and

a sleeve coupled to the elongated body and to the first and second springs.

2. The medical lead delivery device of claim 1, wherein the controller configured to provide increased control over the distal tip of the elongated member.

3. The medical lead delivery device of claim 1, wherein the controller further comprising a lever.

4. The medical lead delivery device of claim 1, wherein engaging the lever causes the controller to clamp down on the elongated body.

5. The medical lead delivery device of claim 3, wherein disengaging the lever causes the controller to release from the elongated body.

6. The medical lead delivery device of claim 1, wherein the controller includes an interference fit along the length of a proximal end of lead.

7. A slideable controller for a medical lead delivery device for delivering a lead to a left coronary vein comprising:

a body;

a pin coupled to the body;

a lever coupled to the body, the lever used to engage and disengage the controller from an elongated body of a lead.

8. The medical lead delivery device of claim 7, wherein the controller configured to provide increased control over the distal tip of the elongated member.

9. A removable controller for a hybrid stylet/guidewire that delivers a lead to a left coronary vein comprising:

a body;

a pin coupled to the body;

a lever coupled to the body, the lever used to engage and disengage the controller from an elongated body of a lead.

10. The medical lead delivery device of claim 9, wherein the controller configured to provide increased control over the distal tip of the elongated member.
