12. A method for treating a diseased blood vessel having a diseased portion, said method comprising:
-
providing a stent comprising a self expanding rolled sheet of resilient material having an open frame with a plurality of frame members and an opening between the frame members sized and dimensioned to overlie a branch of vessels when the stent is placed within the vessel, wherein at least one frame member is sized and dimensioned to occlude the diseased portion of the vessel and isolate the diseased portion from blood pressure within the vessel; and deploying the stent in the diseased blood vessel, isolating the diseased portion of the vessel with one or more frame members whereby exposure of the diseased potion of the vessel to blood pressure within the vessel is reduced.
