Abstract

In a particular embodiment, a system is disclosed that includes processing logic and memory accessible to the processing logic. The memory includes instructions executable by the processing logic to receive data related to search results and to automatically generate a query based on the received data and without explicit user query input. The memory also includes instructions executable by the processing logic to generate at least one visualization of second data related to search results from the generated query.

Claims

1. A system to search data sources, the system comprising:

processing logic and memory accessible to the processing logic, the memory comprising instructions executable by the processing logic to;

receive data related to search results;

automatically generate a query based on the received data and without explicit user query input; and

generate at least one visualization of second data related to search results from the generated query.

2. The system of claim 1, further comprising sending the generated query to at least one data source to retrieve the second data, wherein the second data comprises ancillary data related to attributes derived from the search results.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the at least one visualization comprises a graphical map representing data related to the search results.

4. The system of claim 2, wherein the graphical map comprises a market landscape visualization.

5. The system of claim 3, wherein the market landscape visualization comprises competitive intelligence information derived from a document landscape associated with data related to the search results.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the alternate query is personalized to a particular user.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the memory further comprises instructions executable by the processing logic to provide a control element to adjust a parameter of a learning system.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the memory further comprises instructions executable by the processing logic to provide a control element to adjust a learning system to direct the learning system toward a desired outcome.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein the memory further comprises instructions executable by the processing logic to:

receive explicit user ratings associated with data from the search results; and

train a learning system from the explicit user ratings.

10. A system to search data sources, the system comprising:

processing logic and memory accessible to the processing logic, the memory comprising instructions executable by the processing logic to;

receive search results related to one or more documents;

automatically generate one or more personalized views of data related to the search results, the one or more personalized views generated based on user feedback; and

automatically select one of the one or more personalized views for presentation without receiving explicit user input.

11. The system of claim 10, wherein the one or more personalized views comprise instructions executable at a destination device for rendering within a software application at the destination device.

12. The system of claim 10, wherein the document comprises a text document.

13. The system of claim 10, wherein the one or more personalized views comprise a graphical user interface including a graphical map having multiple selectable graphic elements.

14. The system of claim 10, wherein the one or more personalized views comprise a graphical view including time-varying data related to the search results.

15. The system of claim 10, wherein the one or more personalized views comprises a recommendation to identify a possible association to another user.

16. The system of claim 10, wherein the memory further comprises instructions executable by the processing logic to:

store a snapshot related to data of the search results; and

share the snapshot with another user.

17. The system of claim 10, wherein the memory further comprises instructions executable by the processing logic to:

store a snapshot related to data of the search results; and

provide a personalized view comprising new search results identified after the snapshot is stored.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the memory further comprises instructions executable by the processing logic to:

train a learning system based on user interactions with the new search results; and

selectively provide one or more alerts to a user using the learning system after new search results are identified.

19. A method of searching data sources, the method comprising:

receiving data related to search results;

automatically generating a query based on the search results and without explicit user input; and

generating at least one visualization of second data related to search results from the generated query.

20. The method of claim 19, further comprising storing a snapshot related to the second data, wherein the snapshot comprises search logic related to the generated query.

21. The method of claim 19, wherein automatically generating a query comprises:

generating a competitive intelligence query related to industry information extracted from the search results; and

searching at least one data source using the competitive intelligence query to identify the second data.

22. The method of claim 19, wherein the at least one visualization of the second data is generated based on a user profile.

23. The method claim 19, wherein the at least one visualization of the second data is generated based on a user selection.

24. The method of claim 19, wherein generating the at least one visualization comprises:

retrieving user data related to a user of a destination device; and

selectively generating the at least one visualization based on the retrieved user data.

25. The method of claim 19, wherein the at least one visualization comprises a graphical visualization including multiple selectable graphical elements, wherein each of the multiple selectable graphical elements is associated with at least one result of the search results.
