Abstract

Systems and methods can include offering a user an incentive for viewing advertising content, delivering the advertising content to the user, monitoring the delivery of the advertising content to the user and awarding the user the offered incentive upon successful completion of delivery of the advertising content to the user. Systems and methods can further include maintaining a database of incentives awarded to the user for subsequent redemption by the user. Systems and methods can further include offering the user an opportunity to identify advertising content preferences, storing those advertising content preferences in a database and using the advertising content preferences to filter the advertising content identified to the user when the user is offered an incentive for viewing advertising content.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

outputting, to a display device for display, a menu of advertising content;

receiving at least one input, sent by a user via a user interface, corresponding to a selection of advertising content from the menu;

outputting, to the display device for display, the selected advertising content; and

awarding an incentive to the user for viewing the selected advertising content.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising monitoring the viewing of the advertising content.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein monitoring the viewing of the advertising content further comprises receiving at least one input, sent by the user via the user interface, in response to at least one prompt associated with the advertising content.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein outputting the advertising content further comprises retrieving the advertising content from at least one database.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

receiving at least one advertising content preference associated with the user; and

using the at least one advertising content preference to filter the advertising content in the menu.

6. The method of claim 5 further comprising storing the at least one advertising content preference in at least one database.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein awarding the incentive to the user further comprises outputting, to the display device for display, information comprising instructions to redeem the incentive.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein awarding the incentive to the user further comprises awarding credit to the user.

9. The method of claim 8 further comprising exchanging credit awarded to the user for at least one of a product and service.

10. The method of claim 8 further comprising storing credit awarded to the user in at least one database.

11. The method of claim 10 further comprising:

exchanging credit stored in the at least one database for at least one of a product and service; and

reducing the credit stored in the at least one database by the credit exchanged.

12. The method of claim 10 further comprising outputting, to the display device for display, a summary of the credit stored in the at least one database.

13. A method comprising:

receiving at least one advertising content preference associated with a user;

using the at least one advertising content preference to select advertising content for inclusion in a menu of advertising content for display on a display device;

outputting advertising content for display on the display device in response to the user selecting the advertising content from the displayed menu; and

awarding an incentive to the user.

14. A system comprising;

at least one database comprising advertising content; and

a module comprising;

a receiver to receive a selection of advertising content corresponding to an option on a displayed menu of advertising content;

a processor to process the selection of the advertising content; and

an output to output the selected advertising content to a display device for display.

15. The system of claim 14 wherein the receiver receives the selection of advertising content from a user interface.

16. The system of claim 14 further comprising a second module for retrieving the selected advertising content from the at least one database and sending the selected advertising content to the first module to output the selected advertising content to the display device for display.

17. The system of claim 14 further comprising at least one database for storing incentives awarded to the user.

18. The system of claim 14 further comprising at least one database for storing user advertising content preferences.

19. The system of claim 14 wherein the module further comprises a processor for monitoring the display of the advertising content on the display device.

20. The system of claim 14 wherein the displayed menu of advertising content further comprises a graphical user interface.
