Abstract

This invention prevents repetitive storage of identical character string data, and efficiently uses a storage area. To accomplish this, a facsimile apparatus 8 has an NIC 1 as a network interface, and also has a display unit 4c as a display means for displaying an image as a user interface, a main body controller 3 including a memory as a storage means for storing character string data, a display controller 4b as an image generating means for generating an image to be displayed on the display means, by using the character string data stored in the memory, and an HTTP server as a display data generating means for generating an HTML file as display data described in a markup language by using the character string data stored in the memory, in accordance with a browsing request input via the network interface.

Claims

1. An image processing apparatus having a network interface, comprising:

a display unit adapted to display an image as a user interface;

a storage unit adapted to store character string data;

an image generating unit adapted to generate an image data to be displayed on said display unit, by using the character string data stored in said storage unit;

a markup data generating unit adapted to generate markup data described in a markup language by using the character string data which is stored in said storage unit and used in common with said image generating unit, in response to a browsing request input via said network interface; and

a transmitting unit adapted to transmit the markup data generated by said markup data generating unit to another terminal in response to the browsing request input from said other terminal via said network interface,

wherein said storage unit stores a plurality of the character string data in a plurality of human languages which have the same meaning and are associated with a message identifier, and

wherein said markup data generating unit having template data related to a message identifier, reads out, from said storage unit, character string data associated with the message identifier and expressed in a predetermined language, and generates the markup data by using the readout character string data and the template data.

6. An image processing apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that said image generating means has a language setting which sets a language for use in an image to be displayed on said display means.

An image processing apparatus according to claim 2, characterized in that said display data generating means stores a language setting corresponding to a terminal having transmitted the browsing request, specifies a terminal as a transmission source of the browsing request, reads out a language setting corresponding to the terminal, and generates the display data by reading out character string data corresponding to the readout language setting from said storage means.

An image processing apparatus according to claim 3, characterized in that when accepting designation of a language setting from a terminal as a transmission source of the browsing request, said display data generating means stores the terminal and language setting by making them correspond to each other.

5. An image processing apparatus according to claim 4, characterized in that

said image generating means has a language setting which sets a language for use in an image to be displayed on said display means, and

if accepting no designation of a language setting from a terminal as a transmission source of the browsing request, said display data generating means generates display data by reading out character string data in a language corresponding to the language setting set in said image generating means.

7. A control method of an image processing apparatus including a network interface and storage means for storing character string data, comprising:

an image generation step of generating an image data by using the character string data stored in the storage means;

a display step of displaying the image generated in the image generation step as a user interface;

an input step of inputting an image browsing request via the network interface;

a display markup data generation step of generating markup data described in a markup language by using the character string data which is stored in the storage means and used in common with said image generation step, in to the browsing request input in said input step;

a transmission step of transmitting the markup data generated in the markup data generation step to another terminal, in response to the browsing request input in said input step,

wherein the storage means stores a plurality of the character string data in a plurality of human languages which have the same meaning and are associated with a message identifier, and

wherein said markup data generating unit having template data related to a message identifier, reads out, from the storage means, character string data associated with the message identifier and expressed in a predetermined language, and generates the markup data by using the readout character string data and the template data.

8. A control program of an image processing apparatus including a network interface and storage means for storing character string data, causing the image processing apparatus to execute:

an image generation step of generating an image data by using the character string data stored in the storage means;

a display step of displaying the image generated in the image generation step as a user interface;

an input step of inputting an image browsing request via the network interface;

a markup data generation step of generating markup data described in a markup language by using the character string data which is stored in the storage means and used in common with said image generation step, response to the browsing request input in the input step;

a transmission step of transmitting the markup data generated in the markup data generation step to another terminal, in response to the browsing request input in said input step,

wherein the storage means stores a plurality of the character string data in a plurality of human languages which have the same meaning and are associated with a message identifier, and

wherein said markup data generating unit having template data related to a message identifier, reads out, from the storage means, character string data associated with the message identifier and expressed in a predetermined language, and generates the markup data by using the readout character string data and the template data.

9. A computer-readable storage medium characterized by storing a control program cited in claim 8.
