1. A multicast broadcast service (MCBCS) WiMAX communication system, comprising:

  • at least one MCBCS access network (ASN) comprising (1) base stations to provide radio access to one or more MCBCS clients, and (2) an ASN gateway (ASN-GW) comprising at least one MCBCS Access Agent entity which provides signaling, establishing, and tearing down bearer channels for MCBCS clients, each base station comprising an MCBCS Local Agent entity to organize a respective local base station resource management function to support the MCBCS Access Agent entity to coordinate system resource allocation and airlink scheduling support;

    at least one Connectivity Services Network (CSN) comprising a MCBCS controller that provides functions for MCBCS user service provisioning and delivery, a MCBCS subscriber profile manager that manages MCBCS subscriber profiles, a MCBCS subscriber profile database, and AAA functions that provide authentication, authorization and accounting functions; and

    an interface in communication with one or more MCBCS content providers with MCBCS servers that serve MCBCS content data to the MCBCS controller.
