Abstract

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system for receiving signals received from multiple inputs and transmitting signals to multiple output signal transmitters and multiple receivers for receiving transmitted signals. Processor for processing received location finder signals and for providing location finder processed baseband signals to a polar modulator for polar modulation of processed baseband signal. Processors for providing processed baseband signals to a non-quadrature or a quadrature modulator for modulation of processed baseband signal. Processor for processing and providing Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex Access (OFDM) or Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) signals for modulation and to multiple output transmitters. Processor for processing received signals and for providing processed baseband signals to a cross-correlator for cross-correlating and filtering in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals and for providing cross-correlated quadrature signals to a quadrature modulator for modulation of cross-correlated filtered baseband signal. Spread spectrum processor and cross-correlator for spread spectrum processing and cross-correlating in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals. Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), Global Mobile System (GSM) processors and baseband filters for providing TDMA, Bluetooth, spread spectrum and GSM system signals used in MIMO systems. Receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal.

Claims

1. A Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system comprising:

a interface unit for receiving signals received from multiple input receivers;

a first processor and filter for processing and filtering received location finder signals and for providing location finder processed filtered baseband signals to a polar modulator for polar modulation of processed baseband signal, said polar modulated signal having a first modulation format;

a second processor for processing received signals and for providing processed baseband signals to a non-quadrature or a quadrature modulator for modulation of processed baseband signal, said non-quadrature or quadrature modulated signal having a second modulation format;

a third processor for processing received signals and for providing processed baseband signals to a Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex Access (OFDM) or Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) modulator for modulation of processed baseband signal, said OFDM or OFDMA modulated signal having a third modulation format, wherein the first, second and third modulation formats have distinct modulation formats;

a selector for selecting and providing one or more modulated signals to a multiple output signal transmitter system;

a multiple output signal transmitter system for transmission of one or more selected modulated signals, comprising two or more transmitters; and

a receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal.

5. The system of claim 1 wherein said location finder signals are signals used in navigation systems.

6. The system of claim 1 wherein said processor for processing received location finder signals and for providing location finder processed baseband signal comprises a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) processor.

7. The system of claim 1 wherein said two or more transmitters comprise a transmitter operated as a Non-Linearly Amplified (NLA) transmitter for transmission of the polar modulated signal and a transmitter operated as a linearized transmitter for transmission of the OFDM or OFDMA modulated signal.

8. The system of claim 1 wherein said receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal comprises a demodulator and processor for providing cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase filtered signals.

9. The system of claim 1 wherein said receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal comprises a demodulator and a demodulator filter, wherein the demodulator filter is mismatched to filter for filtering received location finder signals.

10. The system of claim 1 wherein said second processor for processing received signals and for providing processed baseband signals to a non-quadrature or a quadrature modulator for modulation of processed baseband signal provides a signal used in Bluetooth systems.

2. A Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system comprising:

a interface unit for receiving signals received from multiple input receivers;

a first processor for processing received location finder signals and for providing location finder processed baseband signals to a polar modulator for polar modulation of processed baseband signal, said polar modulated signal having a first modulation format;

a second processor for processing received signals and for providing processed baseband signals to a cross-correlator and filter for cross-correlating and filtering in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals and for providing cross-correlated quadrature signals to a quadrature modulator for modulation of cross-correlated filtered baseband signal;

a third processor for processing received signals and for providing processed baseband signals to a Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex Access (OFDM) or Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) modulator for modulation of processed baseband signal, said OFDM or OFDMA modulated signal having a third modulation format, wherein the first, second and third modulation formats have distinct modulation formats;

a selector for selecting and providing one or more modulated signals to a multiple output signal transmitter system;

a multiple output signal transmitter system for transmission of one or more selected modulated signals, comprising two or more transmitters; and

a receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal.

11. The system of claim 2 wherein said location finder signals are signals used as navigational signals.

12. The system of claim 2 wherein said cross-correlator and filter comprises a processor and filter for processing Time Constrained (TCS) waveform and cascaded Long Response (LR) filtered signals.

13. The system of claim 2 wherein said receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal comprises a demodulator and processor for providing cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase filtered signals.

14. The system of claim 2 wherein said receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal comprises a demodulator and a demodulator filter, wherein the demodulator filter is mismatched to filter for cross-correlating and filtering in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals.

3. A Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system comprising:

a interface unit for receiving signals received from multiple input receivers;

a first processor for processing received location finder signals and for providing location finder processed baseband signals to a polar modulator for polar modulation of processed baseband signal, said polar modulated signal having a first modulation format;

a second processor for processing received signals and for providing processed baseband signals to a cross-correlator for cross-correlating and filter for filtering in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals and for providing cross-correlated quadrature signals to a quadrature modulator for modulation of cross-correlated filtered baseband signal;

a third processor for processing received signals and for providing baseband signals to a spread spectrum processor and cross-correlator for spread spectrum processing and cross-correlating in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals and for providing spread spectrum cross-correlated quadrature signals to a quadrature modulator for modulation of spread spectrum cross-correlated baseband signal;

a selector for selecting and providing one or more modulated signals to a multiple output signal transmitter system;

a multiple output signal transmitter system for transmission of one or more selected modulated signals, comprising two or more transmitters; and

a receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal.

15. The system of claim 3 wherein said location finder signals are signals used in navigation systems.

16. The system of claim 3 wherein said cross-correlator for cross-correlating comprises a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) processor used in Global Mobile System (GSM).

17. The system of claim 3 wherein said cross-correlator for cross-correlating comprises a processor and a filter for processing Time Constrained (TCS) waveform and cascaded Long Response (LR) filtered signals.

18. The system of claim 3 wherein said receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal comprises a demodulator and a demodulator filter, wherein the demodulator filter is mismatched to filter for cross-correlating and filtering in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals.

19. The system of claim 3 wherein said spread spectrum processor and cross-correlator for spread spectrum processing is a processor of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) signals.

4. A Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system comprising:

a interface unit for receiving signals received from multiple input receivers;

a first processor for processing received location finder signals and for providing location finder processed baseband signals to a polar modulator for polar modulation of processed baseband signal, said polar modulated signal having a first modulation format;

a second processor for processing received signals and for providing processed baseband signals to a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) processor for processing and filter for filtering baseband signals and for providing TDMA processed signals to a quadrature modulator for modulation of TDMA processed and filtered baseband signal;

a third processor for processing received signals and for providing processed baseband signals to a spread spectrum modulator for modulation of processed baseband signal, said spread spectrum modulated signal having a third modulation format, wherein the first, second and third modulation formats have distinct modulation formats;

a selector for selecting and providing one or more modulated signals to a multiple output signal transmitter system;

a multiple output signal transmitter system for transmission of one or more selected modulated signals, comprising two or more transmitters; and

a receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal.

20. The system of claim 4 wherein said location finder signals are signals used in navigation systems.

The system of claim 4 wherein said receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal comprises a demodulator and a demodulator filter, wherein the demodulator filter provides filtered cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals.

22. The system of claim 4 wherein said Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) processor comprises a processor for providing cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase filtered signals.

23. The system of claim 4 wherein said receiver system comprising two receivers for reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal comprises a demodulator and two filters, wherein one of the filters for demodulation of the TDMA quadrature modulated signals is mis-matched to the filter for filtering baseband signals and for providing TDMA processed signals.

24. The system of claim 4 wherein said two or more transmitters comprise a transmitter operated as a Non-Linearly Amplified (NLA) transmitter and a transmitter operated as a linearized transmitter.
