A method of treating metabolic syndrome, obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, hyperlipidemia, hepatic steatosis, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an antisense compound targeted to a JNK1 nucleic acid, thereby treating metabolic syndrome, obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, hyperlipidemia, hepatic steatosis, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
