Abstract

Systems, methods, and computer-storage media of the present invention facilitate the management of assets of an engineered system. These management activities enable a user to understand various conditions surrounding identified system assets and provide tools for guiding decision making in terms of how prioritize projects for such assets. A user interface is also provided to display geospatially associated information relating to a selected portion of a system asset.

Claims

1. One or more computer-storage media comprising computer-useable instructions for performing a method for managing assets of an engineered system, comprising:

identifying assets of the engineered system;

assessing various conditions of the assets;

conducting a risk analysis for the assets based on the conditions assessed and additional preestablished factors;

applying a prioritization/ranking scheme based at least on results of the risk analysis to order particular assets of the engineered system; and

displaying on a user interface information regarding the assets.

2. The one or more computer-storage media of claim 1, wherein the assets of the engineered system include assets selected from the group consisting of a levee, roadway, channel, utility, or other horizontally stationed system.

3. The one or more computer-storage media of claim 1, wherein the information displayed on the user interface includes potential projects for the assets of the engineered system, the method further comprising:

storing plans/specifications relating to a particular project selected; and

providing feedback for a future lifecycle of managing the assets of the engineered system based on the a particular project selected.

4. One or more computer-storage media comprising computer-useable instructions for performing a method for managing assets of an engineered system, comprising:

identifying assets of the engineered system;

assessing various conditions of the assets;

conducting a risk analysis for the assets based on the conditions assessed and additional preestablished factors;

conducting a cost analysis relating to the assets and objects designed to be protected by the engineered system;

applying a prioritization/ranking scheme based at least on results of the risk analysis and the cost analysis to order particular assets of the engineered system; and

displaying on a user interface information regarding the assets.

5. The one or more computer-storage media of claim 4, wherein the assets of the engineered system include one or more levees.

6. The one or more computer-storage media of claim 4, wherein the information displayed on the user interface includes potential projects for the assets of the engineered system, the method further comprising:

storing plans/specifications relating to a particular project selected; and

providing feedback for a future lifecycle of managing the assets of the engineered system based on the a particular project selected.

7. A user interface embodied on one or more computer-storage media, the user interface comprising:

a plan view display region including a representation of a section of one or more assets of an engineered system;

a profile view display region corresponding to the representation of the section of the one or more assets; and

a graph view display region conveying information regarding geospatially located features associated with the section of the one or more assets.

8. The user interface of claim 7, wherein the assets of the engineered system include one or more levees associated with at least one stationed reference line.

9. The user interface of claim 7, wherein the profile view display region includes information plotted against a stationed reference line axis and an elevation axis.

10. The user interface of claim 7, wherein the information conveyed by the graph view display region includes condition assessment data.

11. The user interface of claim 7, wherein the information conveyed by the graph view display region includes at least one of probability of failure data and risk data.

12. The user interface of claim 7, wherein the user interface further includes a navigator control selectable to regulate the particular section of the one or more assets represented in at least the snapshot view display region.

13. The user interface of claim 12, wherein the navigator control establishes the bounds for display of the particular section of the one or more assets represented in the profile view display region and the graph view display region with respect to the stationed reference line.
