Abstract

In FIG. 1, upon reading out a document file that stores the information that serves as a key for acquiring fragments, a document processing apparatus 20 acquires a definition file associated with the document file. The definition file specifies a rule used for acquiring the fragments from other document files based upon the key stored in the document file. The document processing apparatus 20 reads out sub-document files based upon the key specified in the document file and the rule specified in the definition file. The document processing apparatus 20 arranges these fragments thus acquired so as to build a virtual document, and presents the virtual document thus built to the user.

Claims

1. A data processing apparatus comprising:

means which acquires a first data file that stores information that serves as a key for integrating data and a definition file that stores a rule for integrating the data stored in a second data file based upon the key; and

means which integrates and presents the data stored in the second data file based upon the key and the rule.

2. A data processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the first data file stores the information that serves as a plurality of keys,

and wherein said means, which integrates and presents the data stored in the second data file, integrates and presents the data stored in a plurality of second data files determined based upon the rule and the plurality of keys.

3. A data processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the definition file stores the information for identifying the component parts of the second data file,

and wherein the data is the data of the component parts of the second data file.

4. A data processing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to add new data to the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means, and an instruction to remove a part of the data; and

means which adds or removes the information, which is stored in the first data file and which serves as a key, according to the instruction thus input.

5. A data processing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to edit the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means; and

means which modifies the second data file that stores the data, according to the editing instruction.

8. A data processing apparatus according to claim 2, wherein the definition file stores the information for identifying the component parts of the second data file,

and wherein the data is the data of the component parts of the second data file.

9. A data processing apparatus according to claim 2, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to add new data to the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means, and an instruction to remove a part of the data; and

means which adds or removes the information, which is stored in the first data file and which serves as a key, according to the instruction thus input.

10. A data processing apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to add new data to the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means, and an instruction to remove a part of the data; and

means which adds or removes the information, which is stored in the first data file and which serves as a key, according to the instruction thus input.

11. A data processing apparatus according to claim 8, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to add new data to the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means, and an instruction to remove a part of the data; and

means which adds or removes the information, which is stored in the first data file and which serves as a key, according to the instruction thus input.

12. A data processing apparatus according to claim 2, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to edit the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means; and

means which modifies the second data file that stores the data, according to the editing instruction.

13. A data processing apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to edit the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means; and

means which modifies the second data file that stores the data, according to the editing instruction.

14. A data processing apparatus according to claim 4, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to edit the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means; and

means which modifies the second data file that stores the data, according to the editing instruction.

15. A data processing apparatus according to claim 8, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to edit the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means; and

means which modifies the second data file that stores the data, according to the editing instruction.

16. A data processing apparatus according to claim 9, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to edit the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means; and

means which modifies the second data file that stores the data, according to the editing instruction.

17. A data processing apparatus according to claim 10, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to edit the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means; and

means which modifies the second data file that stores the data, according to the editing instruction.

18. A data processing apparatus according to claim 11, further comprising:

means which allows the user to input an instruction to edit the data thus integrated and presented by said presenting means; and

means which modifies the second data file that stores the data, according to the editing instruction.

6. A data processing method comprising:

acquiring a first data file that stores information that serves as a key for integrating data and a definition file that stores a rule for integrating the data stored in a second data file based upon the key; and

integrating and presenting the data stored in the second data file based upon the key and the rule.

7. A computer program product comprising:

a module which acquires a first data file that stores information that serves as a key for integrating data and a definition file that stores a rule for integrating the data stored in a second data file based upon the key; and

a module which integrates and presents the data stored in the second data file based upon the key and the rule.
