Abstract

A device may comprise a display and a processor. The processor may obtain a first set of one or more touches on a remote surface of a remote device based on a signal received on a communication link between the device and the remote device. receive information associated with the first set of one or more touches through the signal. detect a gesture on the display, and determine whether the information is to be used to obtain content based on the gesture.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

detecting a first set of one or more touches of a graphical object; and

transmitting information that is associated with the graphical object to a device that includes a touch screen;

receiving the information with the device;

accepting a second set of one or more touches on the touch screen; and

using the second set of one or more touches to determine whether the information is valid.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein detecting a first set of one or more touches includes:

identifying a gesture formed by the first set of one or more touches.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein transmitting information includes:

encoding the information based on the gesture; and

transmitting the information that is associated with the graphical object over a physical wireless communication link to the device.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein identifying a gesture includes:

measuring parameters associated with the gesture.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein measuring parameters includes at least one of:

measuring a duration of time to complete the gesture;

measuring a size of a finger for each touch;

measuring a speed of a finger movement;

measuring changes in capacitance of the display;

determining a shape of a finger for each touch;

measuring distances between fingers;

determining a fingerprint;

or

obtaining a three-dimensional image of a finger.

6. The method of claim 2, wherein identifying a gesture includes:

identifying the gesture as at least one of a one-finger gesture, a two-finger gesture, a continuous gesture, a discontinuous gesture, or as taps.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a request for data that is referenced in the information; and

sending the data in response to the request.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein sending the data in response to the request includes:

sending the data over a communication link that is different from a wireless communication link over which the information is transmitted.

9. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

receiving a payment at an account in response to sending the data.

10. A device comprising:

a touch screen; and

a processor configured to;

detect one or more touches on a remote radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag,

receive information from the remote RFID tag over a signal transmitted from the remote RFID tag if the one or more touches are detected,

identify a gesture on the touch screen, and

access the information if the gesture on the touch screen validates the information.

11. The device of claim 10, wherein the remote RFID tag includes one of a passive RFID tag or an active RFID tag.

12. The device of claim 10, further comprising:

a RFID receiver for receiving the information.

13. The device of claim 10, wherein the processor is further configured to:

send a request for data whose link is provided in the information; and

receive the data.

14. The device of claim 13, wherein the processor is further configured to:

transfer a payment to an account in exchange for receiving the data.

15. The device of claim 13, wherein the processor is further configured to:

receive a discount coupon.

16. The device of claim 10, wherein the processor is further configured to:

decode the information based on the gesture on the touch screen.

17. A device comprising:

a display; and

a processor to;

obtain a first set of one or more touches on a remote surface of a remote device based on a signal received on a communication link between the device and the remote device;

receive information associated with the first set of one or more touches through the signal;

detect a gesture on the display; and

determine whether the information is to be used to obtain content based on the gesture.

18. The device of claim 17, wherein the remote device includes a passive radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag.

19. The device of claim 17, wherein the remote surface includes a surface of a touch screen.

20. The device of claim 17, wherein the information includes a link to data at a content provider.

21. A device comprising:

means for receiving information that is transmitted from a remote device and is associated with a graphical object at a remote display included in the remote device;

means for detecting a gesture on a local display;

means for decoding the information based on the gesture; and

means for deleting the information if the means for decoding the information fails to decode the information within a predetermined amount of time.
