Abstract

A liquid crystal display device with a pair of substrates which are arranged to face each other with liquid crystal therebetween, columnar spacers having the substantially equal height formed on a liquid-crystal-side surface of one substrate, and the columnar spacers include the columnar spacer which is contact with a liquid-crystal-side surface of another substrate and the columnar spacer which is not contact with the liquid-crystal-side surface of another substrate.

Claims

1. A liquid crystal display device comprising:

first substrate and second substrate with liquid crystal layer therebetween;

a plurality of gate signal line and a plurality of drain signal line, the gate signal line and the drain signal line are formed on the second substrate,

a plurality of pixel region are defined by the gate signal line and the drain signal line,

a plurality of spacer are formed on the first substrate, respective spacer is arranged in the position which counters the gate signal line of each pixel region,

a plurality of projection portion are formed on the second substrate, respective projection portion is arranged on the gate signal line of some pixel region, each projection portion is arranged in the position which contact with the spacer.

2. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 1, wherein the projection portion has few numbers than the spacer.

3. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 1, wherein the respective spacers have the substantially equal height.

4. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 1, wherein a semiconductor layer is stacked on the gate signal line of the projection portion.

5. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 4, wherein a metal layer is stacked on the semiconductor layer.

6. A liquid crystal display device comprising:

first substrate and second substrate with liquid crystal layer therebetween;

a plurality of spacers formed on the first substrate;

wherein

the spacers include first spacers and second spacers,

the projection portions are formed on the second substrate, the projection portions are arranged in the position which counters the first spacer.

7. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 6, wherein the first spacers have less number of spacer than the second spacers.

8. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 6, wherein the first spacer and the second spacer have the substantially equal height.

9. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 6, wherein

a plurality of gate signal line and a plurality of drain signal line, the gate signal line and the drain signal line are formed on the second substrate,

the first spacer and the second spacer are arranged in the position which counters the gate signal line,

the projection portion formed on the gate signal line.

10. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 9, wherein a semiconductor layer is stacked on the gate signal line of the projection portion.

11. A liquid crystal display device according to claim 10, wherein a metal layer is stacked on the semiconductor layer.
