Abstract

A technique is provided for maintaining the security of the proper nouns included in a document.

A document management system 21 includes: a document processing apparatus 100 which performs processing such as editing of a document, displaying of a document, etc.; and a document management server 23 which manages division and combining of the document thus created. The document processing apparatus 100 transmits an XML document thus created to the document management server 23, and requests the document management server 23 to store the document. The document management server 23 stores the XML document received from the document processing apparatus 100. In this stage, in a case that the XML document includes proper nouns, the proper nouns are stored in the form of a separate file. Upon reception of a request from the document processing apparatus 100 to acquire the XML document stored in the document management server 23, the document management server 23 certifies the user of the requesting document processing apparatus 100. Then, the document management server 23 combines the proper nouns with the XML document in an appropriate manner according to the certification level, and transmits the XML document thus combined to the document processing apparatus 100.

Claims

1. A document management apparatus comprising:

an acquisition unit which acquires a document;

an extracting unit which extracts a proper noun included in the document;

an issuing unit which issues an identifier to the proper noun extracted by said extracting unit;

a replacing unit which replaces the proper noun in the document by the identifier; and

a storage unit which stores the proper noun and the identifier in association with each other.

A document management apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a combining unit having a function whereby, in a case of reception of a request from a user, who has a permission to access the proper noun, to acquire the document, the proper noun is read out from the storage unit, and the proper noun thus read out is combined with the document.

3. A document management apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said combining unit selects the proper noun, of which access is to be permitted, according to the user'"'"'s permission level, and the proper noun thus selected is combined with the file.

4. A document management apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said storage unit is provided in the form of a separate file that differs from the document file.

7. A document management apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said storage unit is provided in the form of a separate file that differs from the document file.

8. A document management apparatus according to claim 3, wherein said storage unit is provided in the form of a separate file that differs from the document file.

5. A document management method comprising:

acquiring a document;

extracting a proper noun included in the document;

issuing an identifier to the proper noun extracted by said extracting unit;

replacing the proper noun in the document by the identifier; and

storing the proper noun and the identifier in association with each other.

6. A document management program product comprising:

a module which acquires a document;

a module which extracts a proper noun included in the document;

a module which issues an identifier to the proper noun extracted by said extracting unit;

a module which replaces the proper noun in the document by the identifier; and

a module which stores the proper noun and the identifier in association with each other.
