Abstract

A method of controlling a mobile communication terminal. The method includes receiving a web page, displaying, on a display screen of the terminal, a first display window which displays one part of the received web page and a second display window which displays another part of the received web page, and generating a scroll bar in at least one of the first and second display windows so at least one of the one part and the another part of the web page can be scrolled using the scroll bar.

Claims

1. A method of controlling a mobile communication terminal, the method comprising:

receiving a web page;

displaying, on a display screen of the terminal, a first display window which displays one part of the received web page and a second display window which displays another part of the received web page; and

generating a scroll bar in at least one of the first and second display windows so at least one of the one part and the another part of the web page can be scrolled using the scroll bar.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

increasing or reducing a size of the second display window.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the display screen comprises a touch screen, and

wherein the increasing or reducing step comprises increasing or reducing the size of the second display window by touching and dragging the second display window on the touch screen.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein when the size of the second display window is increased, the method further comprises reducing a size of the first display window according to the increase in the size of the second display window, and generating a scroll bar in the first display window.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the displaying step comprises displaying the first display window to overlap with the second window.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the first display window overlapping the second display window is displayed as a semi-transparent window so the second display window can be viewed.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the display screen comprises at least first and second display screens, and the displaying step displays the first display window on the first display screen and the second display window on the second display.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the scroll bar is a vertical scroll bar or a horizontal scroll bar.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising,

selecting a web page link displayed in the second window;

and

replacing the web page displayed in the second display window with a web page corresponding to the web page link.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a command from a user to divide the received web page,

wherein the displaying step displays the first and second display windows in response to the command to divide the received web page.

11. The method of claim 10, further comprising:

displaying a menu window for receiving the command from the user to divide the received web page when the received web page is larger than the display screen of the terminal.

12. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

displaying a dividing line so that the received web page can be divided into two sub-web pages when the received web page is larger than the display screen, the two sub-web pages being displayed in the first and second display windows, respectively.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

setting which part of the received web page is to be displayed in the first display window by vertically or horizontally moving the dividing line.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the web page displayed in the first display window includes a predetermined tag.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the tag is a search window tag or a login window tag.

16. The method of claim 15, further comprising:

receiving a search word or an identifier that is typed in the search window or the login window included in the first display window and receiving an enter command; and

displaying a web page that is received in response to the enter command in the second display window.

17. The method of claim 14, further comprising modifying the tag.

18. A mobile communication terminal, comprising:

a wireless communication unit configured to receive a web page;

a display unit including a display screen configured to display a first display window which displays one part of the received web page and a second display window which displays another part of the received web page; and

a control unit configured to generate a scroll bar in at least one of the first and second display windows so at least one of the one part and the another part of the web page can be scrolled using the scroll bar.

19. The mobile communication terminal of claim 18, wherein the control unit provides an option to a user of terminal to increase or reduce a size of the second display window.

20. The mobile communication terminal of claim 19, wherein the display screen comprises a touch screen, and wherein the control unit increases or reduces the size of the second display window by determining the user touches and drags the second display window on the touch screen.

21. The mobile communication terminal of claim 19, wherein when the size of the second display window is increased, the control unit reduces a size of the first display window according to the increase in the size of the second display window and generates a scroll bar in the first display window.

22. The mobile communication terminal of claim 18, wherein the control unit controls the display unit to display the first display window to overlap with the second window.

23. The mobile communication terminal of claim 22, wherein the control unit displays the first display window overlapping the second display window as a semi-transparent window so the second display window can be viewed.

24. The mobile communication terminal of claim 18, wherein the display screen comprises at least first and second display screens, and the control unit displays the first display window on the first display screen and the second display window on the second display.

25. The mobile communication terminal of claim 18, wherein the scroll bar is a vertical scroll bar or a horizontal scroll bar.

26. The mobile communication terminal of claim 18, further comprising:

a selecting unit configured to select a web page link displayed in the second window,

wherein the control unit replaces the web page displayed in the second display window with a web page corresponding to the web page link.

27. The mobile communication terminal of claim 18, further comprising:

an input unit configured to input a command from a user to divide the received web page,

wherein the control unit controls the display unit to display the first and second display windows in response to the command to divide the received web page.

28. The mobile communication terminal of claim 27, wherein the control unit controls the display unit to display a menu window for receiving the command from the user to divide the received web page when the received web page is larger than the display screen of the terminal.

29. The mobile communication terminal of claim 18, wherein the control unit controls the display unit to display a dividing line so that the received web page can be divided into two sub-web pages when the received web page is larger than the display screen, the two sub-web pages being displayed in the first and second display windows, respectively.

30. The mobile communication terminal of claim 29, wherein the control unit sets which part of the received web page is to be displayed in the first display window by determining the user vertically or horizontally moves the dividing line.

31. The mobile communication terminal of claim 18, wherein the web page displayed in the first display window includes a predetermined tag.

32. The mobile communication terminal of claim 31, wherein the tag is a search window tag or a login window tag.

33. The mobile communication terminal of claim 32, wherein the control unit receives a search word or an identifier that is typed in the search window or the login window included in the first display window, receives an enter command, and controls the display unit to display a web page that is received in response to the enter command in the second display window.

34. The mobile communication terminal of claim 31, wherein the control unit receives a command from the user to modify the tag.
