1. A charging control method for a vehicle, the vehicle including a battery for discharging a charging current to an electric motor for driving the vehicle to run, and a charger, which is not mounted on the vehicle, for charging the battery with a charging current from a power source, wherein the battery is charged by the charger in charging modes that are switched sequentially at a plurality of predetermined timings as a charging time elapses, and values of the charging current for the respective charging modes are reduced as the charging time elapses generally over the entirety of the charging time, characterized in that charging in a charging mode is stopped when a temperature of the charger is increased to reach a predetermined temperature, so that charging is performed at a lower charging current that is lower than a charging current for the preceding charging mode until a start predetermined timing for a subsequent charging mode that was to follow the preceding charging mode is reached.
