Receiver for receiving wireless communication signals from a transmitter, wherein the receiver is arranged to operate in one of a plurality of access modes that are used to initiate network access, wherein the receiver upon reception of a Paging Indicator Signal is arranged to perform a transition from a current access mode to another access mode among the plurality of possible access modes, the Paging Indicator Signal comprising an indication of the one of the plurality of possible access modes to which the transition is to be performed.

The Paging Indicator Signal comprising an indication of the one of the plurality of states to which the state transition is to be performed.
