Abstract

A method for allocating an identifier (ID) of a software component is disclosed. The method includes generating information on software components by a Device Management (DM) server, generating a download package including the information on software components by the DM server, transmitting the download package from the DM server to a DM client, executing the download package by the DM client, and allocating an ID to each software component based on the information on software components if the download package is executed by the DM client.

Claims

1. A method for allocating an identifier (ID) of a software component, the method comprising:

generating information on software components by a Device Management (DM) server;

generating a download package including the information on the software components;

transmitting the download package from the DM server to a DM client;

executing the download package by the DM client; and

allocating an ID to each of the software components based on the information on the software components if the download package is executed, by the DM client.

2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the information on the software components comprises IDs of the software components.

3. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the information on the software components comprises IDs and contents of the software components.

4. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the transmitting of the download package comprises receiving the download package by a software management unit of the DM client.

5. A method for allocating an identifier (ID) of a software component, the method comprising:

providing an information node including information on software components to a Software COmponent Management Object (SCOMO), by a Device Management (DM) server;

transmitting the SCOMO including the information on the software components from the DM server to a DM client;

downloading a software package from the DM server according to an execution command of the DM client; and

allocating an ID to each installed software component based on contents of the information node when installing the software package.

6. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein the information on the software components comprises IDs of the software components.

7. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein the information on the software components comprises IDs and contents of the software components.

8. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein the transmitting of the SCOMO comprises receiving the SCOMO by a software management unit of the DM client.

9. A method for allocating an identifier (ID) of a software component, the method comprising:

generating a software package including information on software components, by a Device Management (DM) server;

transmitting a Software COmponent Management Object (SCOMO) from the DM server to a DM client;

downloading the software package from the DM server according to an execution command of the DM client; and

allocating an ID to each installed software component based on the information on the software components included in the software package when installing the software package.

10. The method as claimed in claim 9, wherein the information on the software components comprises IDs of the software components.

11. The method as claimed in claim 9, wherein the information on the software components comprises IDs and contents of the software components.

12. The method as claimed in claim 9, wherein the transmitting of the SCOMO comprises receiving the SCOMO by a software management unit of the DM client.

13. A method for allocating an identifier (ID) of a software component, the method comprising:

providing a first sub-node for describing information on software components to a download Management Object (MO) of a Software COmponent Management Object (SCOMO);

providing a second sub-node for describing originator information of the software components to a deployed MO of the SCOMO;

transmitting the SCOMO to a Device Management (DM) client;

downloading a software package from a DM server according to an execution command of the DM client; and

allocating an ID to each installed software component based on contents of the first sub-node of the download MO when installing the software package.

14. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the information on the software components comprises originator information.

15. The method as claimed in claim 13, which further comprises receiving information on software components provided by originators of the software components.

16. The method as claimed in claim 14, wherein the allocating of the ID to each installed software component comprises allocating the originator information to the second sub-node of the deployed MO.

17. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the information on the software components comprises IDs of the software components.

18. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the information on the software components comprises IDs and contents of the software components.

19. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the transmitting of the SCOMO comprises receiving the SCOMO by a software management unit of the DM client.
