Abstract

In embodiments of the present invention, improved capabilities are described for displaying and managing dynamic, multi-media, video content presentation on an architectural scale. Methods and systems described include associating a video display with an advertising marketplace and leasing rights to a video display. A plurality of physical panel, rod, curtain, blade, and fin video display arrays are described, as are methods and systems for managing and editing video for display and powering a video display that is associated with an architectural feature.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

using a multi-panel video display on an architectural feature for presenting a media content; and

leasing rights to display content on the multi-panel video display to one or more content providers for presenting the media content in a time share manner.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein leasing the rights includes leasing rights to provide advertising content.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the content provider is an advertiser.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the multi-panel video display is coordinated across panels within the display to present a unified content that spans the multi-panel video display.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the multi-panel video display is associated with a software editor for managing the presentation of the content.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the multi-panel video display is associated with at least one power cable.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the power cable is an Ethernet cable.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the multi-panel video display is associated with at least one data cable.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the data cable is an Ethernet cable.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the architectural feature is a building faç

ade.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the architectural feature is a plurality of building facades.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the architectural feature is an internal building feature.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the architectural feature is a wall.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the architectural feature is a gable.

15. The method of claim 1, wherein the architectural feature is a cornice.

16. The method of claim 1, wherein the architectural feature is a sign.

17. The method of claim 1, wherein the architectural feature is a temporary architectural feature.

18. The method of claim 1, wherein the media content is an image.

19. The method of claim 1, wherein the media content is a sound.

20. The method of claim 1, wherein the media content is a video.

21. The method of claim 1, wherein the media content is multi-media content.

22. The method of claim 1, wherein a term of the lease of the multi-panel video display is a based at least in part on a prospective lessee'"'"'s bid received within a bidding platform.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein the bidding platform includes a listing of an attribute of the display, the attribute selected from the group consisting the size of the display, historical revenues associated with the display, the density of the population in proximity to the display, the distance from which the display can be viewed, or the traffic within a viewing distance of the display.

24. The method of claim 1, wherein the multi-panel video display is associated with at least one power cable.

25. The method of claim 24, wherein the power cable is an Ethernet cable.

26. The method of claim 1, wherein the multi-panel video display is associated with at least one data cable.

27. The method of claim 26, wherein the data cable is an Ethernet cable.

28. A computer-readable medium containing computer instructions for:

using a multi-panel video display on an architectural feature for presenting a media content; and

leasing rights to display content on the multi-panel video display to one or more content providers for presenting the media content in a time share manner.

125. A method, comprising:

providing a large scale video display, the video display including a plurality of fins, each fin configured to project at an angle from a faç

ade, thereby facilitating viewing from an angle substantially acute to the faç

ade; and

coordinating video content across a plurality of fins.

126. The method of claim 125, wherein the fins are rotatably disposed on the faç

ade, thereby allowing the fins to project at different angles from the faç

ade.

127. The method of claim 125, further comprising providing coordinated video content for the fins and for a video display disposed flat on the faç

ade.

128. The method of claim 125, further comprising providing a video display on a face and on an edge of each of the plurality of fins.

129. The method of claim 125, wherein the video display is coordinated across each of the faces and each of the edges among the plurality of fins.

130. The method of claim 125, wherein the video display comprises a first media content on at least one face and a second media content on at least one edge.

131. The method of claim 125, wherein the video display is alternated between the face and the edge of each of the plurality of fins.

132. The method of claim 125, further comprising associating the plurality of fins with an audio system.

133. The method of claim 125, further comprising associating the plurality of fins with a cooling system.

134. The method of claim 125, wherein the video content is high definition video content.

135. The method of claim 125, wherein the large scale video display is associated with a software editor for managing the presentation of the content.

136. The method of claim 125, wherein the large scale video display is associated with at least one power cable.

137. The method of claim 136, wherein the power cable is an Ethernet cable.

138. The method of claim 125, wherein the large scale video display is associated with at least one data cable.

139. The method of claim 138, wherein the data cable is an Ethernet cable.

140. A computer-readable medium containing computer instructions for:

providing a large scale video display, the video display including a plurality of fins, each fin configured to project at an angle from a faç

ade, thereby facilitating viewing from an angle substantially acute to the faç

ade; and

coordinating video content across a plurality of fins.

165. A method, comprising:

providing a computer program with a user interface allowing editing a stream of HD video content; and

in the user interface, allowing a single stream of HD video content to be disposed over a plurality of objects, the objects corresponding in shape to a plurality of video displays.

166. The method of claim 165, further comprising taking the edited stream of HD video content and configuring it for display on a plurality of video displays corresponding to the objects in the user interface.

167. The method of claim 165, wherein editing the HD video content includes video encoding.

168. The method of claim 165, wherein editing the HD video content includes video conversion.

169. The method of claim 165, wherein editing the HD video content includes non-linear video editing.

170. A computer-readable medium containing computer instructions for:

providing a computer program with a user interface allowing editing a stream of HD video content; and

in the user interface, allowing a single stream of HD video content to be disposed over a plurality of objects, the objects corresponding in shape to a plurality of video displays.
