1. A forwardly directed fluid jet crossing catheter comprising a manifold and a flexible elongated catheter tube, said manifold having a substantially straight tubular section and an off-line tubular section, said substantially straight tubular section having a proximal end and a distal end, said off-line tubular section being connected between said proximal and distal ends of said substantially straight tubular section, said flexible elongated catheter tube having a proximal end and a distal end, said flexible elongated catheter tube being connected through said distal end of said substantially straight tubular section, said flexible catheter tube having a flexible hollow tapered tip attached to said distal end of said flexible elongated catheter tube, said hollow tapered tip having a proximal end and a distal end, said proximal end of said hollow tapered tip being attached to said distal end of said flexible elongated catheter tube, a flexible elongated guide wire tube extending internally from near said proximal end of said substantially straight tubular section, through said flexible elongated catheter tube, to said distal end of said hollow tapered tip, a flexible elongated high pressure tube extending internally from said off-line tubular section, through said substantially straight tubular section of said manifold, through said flexible elongated catheter tube, to a distance short of said distal end of said flexible elongated catheter tube, said elongated high pressure tube having a proximal end and a distal end, and said elongated guide wire tube having a fluid entry hole therein adjacent to said distal end of said elongated high pressure tube.
