Abstract

In embodiments of the present invention, a method and system of a guideline manager is provided for receiving a pricing plan of record, identifying at least one product within the pricing plan of record, determining at least one guideline for carrying out the pricing plan with respect to the at least one product, making available the at least one guideline, receiving data related to carrying out the pricing plan with respect to the at least one product, and altering the at least one guideline in response to the data.

Claims

1. A method of a guideline manager, the method comprising:

receiving a pricing plan of record;

identifying at least one product within the pricing plan of record;

determining at least one guideline for carrying out the pricing plan with respect to the at least one product;

making available the at least one guideline;

receiving data related to carrying out the pricing plan with respect to the at least one product; and

altering the at least one guideline in response to the data.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein receiving occurs via a dashboard.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein determining involves tradeoff modeling.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein determining involves considering an entity plan.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein making available occurs via a dashboard.

16. The method of claim 1, wherein making available further comprises transmitting a guideline, the guideline related to the pricing plan of record.

19. The method of claim 1, wherein the guideline comprises a promotion.

20. The method of claim 1, wherein the guideline comprises a discount.

24. The method of claim 1, wherein the guideline comprises a range of prices.

26. The method of claim 1, wherein the guideline comprises a range of discounts.

27. The method of claim 1, wherein the guideline comprises an operating guideline.

28. The method of claim 1, wherein the guideline provides an instruction for carrying out the pricing plan.

29. The method of claim 1, wherein the guideline provides an authorization for an action related to carrying out the pricing plan.

identifying product lines units within the pricing plan based on performance;

setting operating guidelines for the identified products or identified product lines based on the pricing plan;

validating the guidelines;

routing the guidelines for approval; and

making available the guidelines.

65. A system for publishing guidelines, the system comprising:

a guideline manager including an input module, a processor, and an output module, wherein the input module is adapted to receive a published pricing plan;

the processing module is adapted to identify products line units within the pricing plan based upon performance, set operating guidelines for the identified products based upon the pricing plan, and validate the guidelines; and

the output modules is adapted to make available the guidelines.

66. The system of claim 65, wherein the processing module is further adapted to validate guidelines.
