Abstract

A digital broadcasting system for transmitting/receiving a digital broadcasting signal and a data processing method are disclosed. First program table information and second program table information, which has an identifier different from an identifier of the first program information, are multiplexed and transmitted. The first program table information describes main service data through fixed reception channel, while the second program information described mobile service data through mobile reception channel. Thus, a broadcast receiving system can receive and output the mobile service data by parsing the second program table information.

Claims

1. A data processing method comprising:

multiplexing first program table information describing main service data with the main service data, and multiplexing second program table information, which describes mobile service data and includes information identified from the first program table information, with the mobile service data;

performing an error correction encoding process for the multiplexed mobile service data and multiplexing the mobile service data, which is subjected to the error correction encoding process, with the multiplexed main service data in an unit of a data packet; and

modulating and transmitting the multiplexed data packet.

2. The data processing method according to claim 1, wherein the first program table information and the second program table are included in respective packets, which have different packet identifiers, respectively.

3. The data processing method according to claim 2, wherein the first program table information and the second program table information are program map tables (PMTs).

4. The data processing method according to claim 1, wherein the first program table information and the second program table information are virtual channel tables (VCTs).

5. The data processing method according to claim 1, wherein the first program table information and the second program table information are VCTs and the identifier is modulation_mode field value.

6. The data processing method according to claim 1, wherein the first program table information and the second program table information are VCTs and the identifier is service_type field values.

7. The data processing method according to claim 1, wherein the first program table information and the second program table information are VCTs and the identifier is included in service_location_descriptors of the VCTs.

8. The data processing method according to claim 1, wherein the modulating and transmitting the multiplexed data packet includes:

multiplexing the mobile service data and the main service data in the unit of the data packet and forming a data group by using the multiplexed packets; and

interleaving the formed data group to broadcasting data;

transmitting a broadcasting signal obtained by modulating the interleaved broadcasting data.

9. A data processing method comprising:

receiving a broadcasting signal in which main service data and mobile service data are multiplexed in a data group;

obtaining first program table information describing the main service data and second program table information, which describes the mobile service data and has an identifier different from an identifier of the first program table information, from the received broadcasting signal;

parsing the second program table information and decoding the mobile service data from the broadcasting signal; and

outputting broadcasting contents according to the decoded mobile service data.

10. The data processing method according to claim 9, wherein the first program table information and the second program table information are program map tables (PMTs).

11. The data processing method according to claim 9, wherein the first program table information and the second program table information are virtual channel table (VCTs).

12. The data processing method according to claim 11, wherein the identifier of the first program table information and the identifier of the second program table information are at least one of modulation_mode field values and service_type field values, respectively.

13. The data processing method according to claim 11, wherein the identifier of the first program table information and the identifier of the second program table information are included in service_location_descriptors of the VCTs, respectively.

14. The data processing method according to claim 11, wherein the data group is an unit in which the mobile service data and the main service data are interleaved.

15. A digital broadcasting system comprising:

a tuner receiving a broadcasting signal in which main service data and mobile service data are included in a data group;

a demodulator demodulating the main service data and the mobile service data from the broadcasting signal received by the tuner and outputs the demodulated data;

a demultiplexer demultiplexing first program table information describing the main service data and second program table information, which describes the mobile service data and has an identifier different from an identifier of the first program table information;

a program table information decoder decoding the demultiplexed second table information;

a decoder decoding broadcasting contents according to the mobile service data in the data group using the decoded second program table information; and

a controller controlling the broadcasting contents to be output.

16. The digital broadcasting system according to claim 15, wherein the second program table information is at least one of a program map table (PMT) and a virtual channel table (VCT).

17. The digital broadcasting system according to claim 15, wherein the identifier is at least one of a modulation_mode field value, a service_type field value and one field value included in service_location_descriptors.

18. The digital broadcasting system according to claim 15, wherein the data group is a unit in which the main service data and the mobile service data are interleaved.

19. The digital broadcasting system according to claim 15, wherein the controller controls the demodulator to demodulate a burst section including the broadcasting contents when the broadcasting contents are controlled to be output.

20. The digital broadcasting system according to claim 15, wherein the controller stores channel information included in the main service data and channel information included in the mobile service data as respective channel maps.
