Abstract

A reverse proxy server can provide access to web applications. The reverse proxy system can produce interstitial pages not generated with the web application code and optionally block access to the web application until the interstitial pages have been processed.

Claims

1. A reverse proxy server providing access to web applications, the reverse proxy system adapted to produce interstitial pages to the user, the interstitial pages not generated with the web application code and optionally block access to the web application until the interstitial pages have been processed.

2. The reverse proxy system of claim 1, wherein at least one interstitial page is used to receive a user password.

3. The reverse proxy system of claim 1, wherein at least one interstitial page is used as a warning page.

4. The reverse proxy server of claims 1, wherein the user is anonymous for interstitial pages.

5. The reverse proxy system of claims 1, wherein the interstitial page is a license agreement.

6. The reverse proxy system of claim 1, wherein the interstitial page includes user info.

7. The reverse proxy system of claim 1, wherein the access to the web application can be blocked until the interstitial pages have been processed.

8. A reverse proxy server providing access to web applications, the reverse proxy system adapted to produce interstitial pages to the user, the interstitial pages not generated with the web application code wherein at least one interstitial page is used to receive user password.

9. The reverse proxy system of claim 8, wherein at least one interstitial page is used to receive a user password.

10. The reverse proxy system of claim 8, wherein the interstitial page is used as a warning page.

11. The reverse proxy server of claim 8, wherein the user is anonymous for interstitial pages.

12. The reverse proxy system of claims 8, wherein the interstitial page is a license agreement.

13. The reverse proxy system of claim 8, wherein the interstitial page includes user info.

14. The reverse proxy system of claim 8, wherein the access to the web application can be blocked until the interstitial pages have been processed.

15. A reverse proxy server adapted to:

receive user requests for web application the reverse proxy server;

obtain web application code for a first web application;

interpret a tag in the first web application to indicate a pagelet web application or data or processing;

obtain pagelet web application code from the pagelet application or the result of the tag processing and produce a combined presentation;

wherein the reverse proxy system is adapted to produce interstitial pages to the user, the interstitial pages not generated with the web application code.

16. The reverse proxy system of claim 15, wherein at least one interstitial page is used to receive a user password.

17. The reverse proxy system of claim 15, wherein at least one interstitial page is used to used as a warning page.

18. The reverse proxy server of claims 15, wherein the user is anonymous for interstitial pages.

19. The reverse proxy system of claims 15, wherein the interstitial page is a license agreement.

20. The reverse proxy system of claim 15, wherein the interstitial page includes info.

21. The reverse proxy system of claim 15, wherein the access to the web application can be blocked until the interstitial pages have been processed.
