Abstract

A chewing gum with a liquid-fill composition and a surrounding gum region, with one or both containing active ingredients, such as herbal, medicinal and/or mineral elements or combinations thereof, present in an amount of at least about 0.05 mg.

Claims

1. A chewing gum composition comprising:

a liquid-fill composition and a gum region surrounding said liquid-fill composition, said liquid-fill composition comprising between 0.5 mg and 5 grams and said gum region having a size less than 4.5 grams, wherein said liquid-fill composition includes at least two active ingredients selected from the group consisting of calcium, dexatrim, oatmeal fiber, a vitamin, a mineral supplement, a medicinal component, a lipid substance (HDL), a mineral supplement, a chemotherapeutic agent, a diuretic, an antacid, an antibiotic, a herbal component, a stimulant, a metabolic enhancer, siberian ginseng, vitamin E, green tea, zinc, casgara sagrada, mahuang, apple pectin, astragalus, dandelion, guarana, chickweek, bee pollen, gymnema sylvestre, chromium picolinate, licorice, bluegreen algae, bladderwrack, royal jelly, ginger, damiana, magnesium, lecithin, sarsaparilla, gotu kola, golden seal, nettles, chitosan, and combinations thereof, said active ingredients present in an amount of at least about 0.05 mg.

2. The chewing gum of claim 1, wherein said liquid-fill composition and said gum region surrounding said liquid-fill composition are the same.

3. The chewing gum of claim 1, wherein said liquid-fill composition and said gum region surrounding said liquid-fill composition are different.

4. The chewing gum of claim 1, wherein said active ingredient is calcium, zinc, and vitamin E.

5. The chewing gum of claim 1, wherein said active ingredients are green tea and vitamin E.

6. The chewing gum of claim 1, wherein said active ingredients are green tea and a mineral supplement.

7. A chewing gum product consisting essentially of a first substance configured so as to have at least one cavity capable of retaining a liquid or semi-liquid substance as a second substance, wherein at least said first substance has an active ingredient consisting essentially of green tea and at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of calcium, dexatrim, oatmeal fiber, a vitamin, a mineral supplement, a medicinal component, a lipid substance (HDL), a mineral supplement, a chemotherapeutic agent, a diuretic, an antacid, an antibiotic, a herbal component, a stimulant, a metabolic enhancer, siberian ginseng, vitamin E, green tea, zinc, casgara sagrada, mahuang, apple pectin, astragalus, dandelion, guarana, chickweek, bee pollen, gymnema sylvestre, chromium picolinate, licorice, bluegreen algae, bladderwrack, royal jelly, ginger, damiana, magnesium, lecithin, sarsaparilla, gotu kola, golden seal, nettles, chitosan, and combinations thereof, said active ingredient present in an amount of at least about 0.05 mg.

8. The chewing gum of claim 7, wherein said liquid-fill composition and said gum region surrounding said liquid-fill composition are the same.

9. The chewing gum of claim 7, wherein said liquid-fill composition and said gum region surrounding said liquid-fill composition are different.

10. The chewing gum of claim 7, wherein said active ingredients are calcium, zinc, and vitamin E.

11. The chewing gum of claim 7, wherein said active ingredients are green tea and vitamin E.

12. The chewing gum of claim 7, wherein said active ingredient is green tea and a mineral supplement.

13. A chewing gum product consisting essentially of a first substance configured so as to have at least one cavity capable of retaining a liquid or semi-liquid substance as a second substance, wherein at least said first substance has an active ingredient consisting essentially of calcium and at least one component selected from the group consisting of dexatrim, oatmeal fiber, a vitamin, a mineral supplement, a medicinal component, a lipid substance (HDL), a mineral supplement, a chemotherapeutic agent, a diuretic, an antacid, an antibiotic, a herbal component, a stimulant, a metabolic enhancer, siberian ginseng, vitamin E, green tea, zinc, casgara sagrada, mahuang, apple pectin, astragalus, dandelion, guarana, chickweek, bee pollen, gymnema sylvestre, chromium picolinate, licorice, bluegreen algae, bladderwrack, royal jelly, ginger, damiana, magnesium, lecithin, sarsaparilla, gotu kola, golden seal, nettles, chitosan, and combinations thereof, said active ingredient present in an amount of at least about 0.05 mg.

14. The chewing gum of claim 13, wherein said liquid-fill composition and said gum region surrounding said liquid-fill composition are the same.

15. The chewing gum of claim 13, wherein said liquid-fill composition and said gum region surrounding said liquid-fill composition are different.

16. The chewing gum of claim 13, wherein said active ingredient is calcium, zinc, and vitamin E.

17. The chewing gum of claim 13, wherein said active ingredient is calcium and vitamin E.

18. The chewing gum of claim 13, wherein said active ingredient is calcium and a mineral supplement.

19. The chewing gum of claim 13, wherein said active ingredient is calcium and at least one of a vitamin and a mineral supplement.

20. The chewing gum of claim 13, wherein said active ingredient is calcium and at least one of an antacid and a herbal component.
