1. An analyte monitoring system, comprising:
- an analyte sensor for transcutaneous positioning under a skin layer of a subject;
a data processing device operatively coupled to the analyte sensor, the device comprising;
a control unit;
a memory operatively coupled to the control unit and configured to store a plurality of data associated with the monitored analyte level received from the sensor; and
a communication unit operatively coupled to the control unit; and
a blood glucose meter configured for signal communication with the data processing device;
wherein when the control unit of the data processing device detects a communication link with the blood glucose meter, the control unit is further configured to retrieve the stored plurality of data from the memory and to transmit the retrieved data to the blood glucose meter.
