1. A single-insertion, multiple sample biopsy device, comprising:

  • a stylet extending along a longitudinal axis between a distal end and a proximal end, the stylet having a tip at the distal end and a hollow interior volume extending from a biopsy port proximate the distal end to the proximal end;

    a cannula that surrounds a portion of the stylet and movable along the longitudinal axis;

    a plurality of lumens disposed in the interior volume;

    a first lumen coupled to one of the plurality of lumens;

    a first bulkhead disposed near the proximal end, the first bulkhead being coupled to the lumens and a second bulkhead disposed near the distal end, the second bulkhead being coupled to the first lumen, both bulkheads defining a biopsy sample volume; and

    a transport subassembly coupled to the first and second bulkheads to move a biopsy sample from the biopsy port to the proximal end of the stylet.
