Abstract

The present invention relates to a system for providing information to one or more users sharing a nomadic experience. The system comprises client terminals (107₁-107₅) and a server platform (101). The server platform (101) consists of one or more first servers (103) for maintaining groups of users and one or more second servers (102) for interactively sharing information within a group of users. The system further comprises communication channels providing connectivity between client terminals (107₁-107₅) and the server platform (101).

Claims

1. A system for providing information to one or more users sharing a nomadic experience, said system, comprising one or more client terminals (107₁-107₅), characterized in that said system further comprises

a server platform (101), said server platform (101) comprising at least one first server (103) for maintaining groups of users and at least one second server (102) for interactively sharing information within a group of users;

and

one or more communication channels for connectivity between said client terminals (107₁-107₅) and said server platform (101).

2. The system according to claim 1, characterized in that said server platform (101) further comprises at least one third server (104) for selecting and/or filtering said information based on a context of a user.

3. The system according to claim 2, characterized in that said at least one second server (102) comprises one or more of the following:

means for receiving a trigger from a first server (103) and/or a third server (104);

means for gathering said information in response to said trigger;

means for involving other users of a group in gathering said information;

means for storing or retrieving the route followed by the users of said group;

means for communicating with said at least one first server (103) for checking consistency of said group;

means for communicating with said at least one third server (104) for checking consistency of said context; and

means for responding to said trigger.

4. The system according to claim 1, characterized in that said first server (103) comprises one or more of the following:

means for managing a user-group association;

means for maintaining user preferences; and

means for maintaining user availability in a group.

5. The system according to claim 2, characterized in that said third server (104) comprises one or more of the following:

means for dynamically and continuously monitoring said context of said users; and

means for sending a trigger to said second server (102).

6. The system according to claim 1, characterized in that said server platform (101) further comprises means for storing elements of said information and means for providing said elements to one or more of said groups.

7. The system according to claim 1, characterized in that said nomadic experience comprises one or more of the following:

a city visit;

an event visit;

a museum visit; and

a company visit.

8. The system according to claim 2, characterized in that said context of a user comprises information related to one or more of the following:

weather conditions at the location of said user;

a number of users; and

theme of said nomadic experience.

9. A first server (103) for use in a system as defined in claim 1.

10. A second server (102) for use in a system as defined in claim 1.

11. A third server (104) for use in a system as defined in claim 2.

12. A client terminal (107₁-107₅) for use in a system as defined in claim 1.
