Abstract

A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a signal in a wireless communication system are provided in which, when a relay request message is received from a transmitter, a first receiver transmits a relay response message including a relay possible information to the transmitter, the relay possible information including information indicating whether the first receiver can perform a relay function, and relays a signal between the transmitter and a second receiver, when a relay confirm message is received from the transmitter after transmitting the relay response message. Herein, the first receiver is different from the second receiver.

Claims

1. A method for transmitting and receiving a signal in a first receiver in a wireless communication system, comprising:

transmitting, when a relay request message is received from a transmitter, a relay response message including a relay possible information to the transmitter, the relay possible information including information indicating whether the first receiver can perform a relay function; and

relaying a signal between the transmitter and a second receiver, when a relay confirm message is received from the transmitter after transmitting the relay response message,

wherein the first receiver is different from the second receiver.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the relay possible information comprise information about a remaining power of the first receiver.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the relay possible information comprise information about a quality of a downlink signal received from the transmitter.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the relay possible information comprise information indicating whether the first receiver is in charge mode.

5. A method for transmitting and receiving a signal in a transmitter in a wireless communication system, comprising:

transmitting a relay request message to first receivers capable of performing a relay function among a plurality of receivers;

receiving from each of the first receivers a relay response message including relay possible information that includes information indicating whether each of the first receivers can perform a relay function;

selecting a second receiver from among the first receivers to perform the relay function using the received relay possible information;

transmitting a relay confirm message to the second receiver; and

transmitting and receiving signals to and from a third receiver among the plurality of receivers using the second receiver,

wherein the first receiver, the second receiver, and the third receiver are different receivers.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein each of the relay possible information comprise information about a remaining power of each of the first receivers.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein the relay possible information comprise information about a quality of a downlink signal that each of the first receivers receive from the transmitter.

8. The method of claim 5, wherein the relay possible information comprise information indicating whether each of the first receivers is in charge mode.

9. The method of claim 5, wherein transmitting the relay request message comprises:

receiving a location information from each of the plurality of receivers;

selecting the first receivers capable of performing the relay function located between the transmitter and the third receiver using the location information; and

transmitting the relay request message to each of the first receivers.

10. The method of claim 5, wherein transmitting the relay request message comprises:

receiving an uplink signal from each of the plurality of receivers;

acquiring a location information about each receiver by calculating a direction of angle of the uplink signal;

selecting the first receivers capable of performing the relay function located between the transmitter and the third receiver according to the location information; and

transmitting the relay request message to each of the first receivers.

11. An apparatus for transmitting and receiving a signal in a wireless communication system, comprising:

a first receiver for transmitting, when a relay request message is received from a transmitter, a relay response message including a relay possible information to the transmitter, the relay possible information including information indicating whether the first receiver can perform a relay function, and relaying a signal between the transmitter and a second receiver, when a relay confirm message is received from the transmitter after transmitting the relay response message,

wherein the first receiver is different from the second receiver.

12. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the relay possible information comprise information about a remaining power of the first receiver.

13. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the relay possible i nformation comprise information about a quality of a downlink sig nal received from the transmitter.

14. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the relay possible i nformation comprise information indicating whether the first rece iver is in charge mode.

15. An apparatus for transmitting and receiving a signal in a wireless communication system, comprising:

a transmitter for transmitting a relay request message to first receivers capable of performing a relay function among a plurality of receivers, receiving from each of the first receivers a relay response message including a relay possible information that includes information indicating whether each of the first receivers can perform a relay function, selecting a second receiver from among the first receivers to perform the relay function using the received relay possible information, transmitting a relay confirm message to the second receiver, and transmitting and receiving signals to and from a third receiver among the plurality of receivers using the second receiver,

wherein the first receiver, the second receiver, and the third receiver are different receivers.

16. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein each of the relay possible information comprise information about a remaining power of each of the first receivers.

17. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the relay possible information comprise information about a quality of a downlink signal that each of the first receivers receive from the transmitter.

18. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the relay possible information comprise information indicating whether each of the first receivers is in charge mode.

19. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the transmitter receives a location information from each of the plurality of receivers, selects the first receivers capable of performing the relay function located between the transmitter and the third receiver using the location information, and transmits the relay request message to each of the first receivers.

20. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the transmitter receives an uplink signal from each of the plurality of receivers, acquires a location information about the each receiver by calculating a direction of angle of the uplink signal, selects the first receivers capable of performing the relay function located between the transmitter and the third receiver according to the location information, and transmits the relay request message to each of the first receivers.
