Abstract

Updating data between the mobile devices belonging to a given user group is shown. In a mobile device (301, 302), there can be recorded information (406) of the members of a given user group, and a connection can be established from the device (301, 302) to other devices (303, 304, 401) of the user group members. In addition, the device includes means for defining the changing information as update data (407) related to said user group, and means for transmitting (303, 304, 401) the update data automatically to each device belonging to the user group through a defined connection bus. The device also includes means for receiving (303, 304, 401) the data defined to be updated, and means for saving (406, 407) the received update data in the device.

Claims

1. A mobile device, from which a data update is transmittable to devices of members representing a given user group, to which mobile device information related to this user group is recordable and from which mobile device a connection is establishable to devices of this user group, and which mobile device comprises

an element for defining changing information as update data related to the user group and

an element for automatically transmitting the update data for each device belonging to the user group through a defined connection bus;

wherein the mobile device includes a log file for keeping register of performed and not performed data updates and for recording time information of the update data.

2. A mobile device according to claim 1, wherein it includes an element for transmitting the update data through a radio frequency network.

3. A mobile device according to claim 1, wherein it includes an element for transmitting the update data through a local wireless network.

4. A mobile device according to claim 1, wherein it includes means for transmitting message-form update data.

5. A mobile device according to claim 1, wherein it includes an element for transmitting the update data through network communication servers.

6. A mobile device according to claim 1, wherein it includes an element for transmitting message-form update data through a network messaging center.

7. A mobile device according to claim 1, wherein it includes an element for transmitting the update data through an established short-range connection.

8. A mobile device according to claim 1, wherein it includes an element for manually feeding an update command.

9. A mobile device according to claim 1, wherein it includes an element for starting an automatic updating function as a response to an observation that at least two user group devices are within the coverage area.

10. A mobile device according to claim 1 wherein it includes an element for verifying the receiver to which the update data is transmitted.

11. A mobile device according to claim 1, wherein it includes an element for updating calendar entries between the members of a given user group.

12. A mobile device, to which data updates are receivable from devices of members of a given user group, and from which mobile device a connection is establishable with devices of the user group members, and which mobile device includes

an element for receiving data defined to be updated, and

an element for recording received update data in the device;

wherein the mobile device includes a log file for keeping register of performed data updates and for recording time information of the update data.

13. A mobile device according to claim 12, wherein it includes an element for processing received update data.

14. A mobile device according to claim 12, wherein it includes an element for receiving the update data through a radio frequency network.

15. A mobile device according to claim 12, wherein it includes an element for receiving the update data through a local wireless network.

16. A mobile device according to claim 12, wherein it includes an element for receiving message-form update data.

17. A mobile device according to claim 12, wherein it includes an element for receiving update data from a network messaging server.

18. A mobile device according to claim 12, wherein it includes an element for receiving message-form update data from a network messaging center.

19. A mobile device according to claim 12, wherein it includes an element for receiving the update data arriving through an established short-range connection.

20. A mobile device according to claim 12, wherein it includes an element for transmitting a confirmation message to the transmitter of the update data for confirming the reception of said update data.

22. A mobile device according to claim 12, wherein it includes an element for comparing the received update data with corresponding data already existing in the device and an element for updating this existing data based on the received update data as a response to a situation, in which the received update data is timewise more recent than the corresponding data already existing in the device.

21. A mobile device according to wherein it includes an element for updating calendar entries between the members of a given user group.

23. A method for updating changing information between devices belonging to a given user group, in which method the changing information is defined as update data related to said user group, and that the update data is transmitted automatically to each device belonging to the user group through a defined connection bus wherein the method comprises keeping register of performed and not performed data updates in a log file and recording time information of the update data.

24. A method according to claim 23, wherein the update data is transmitted to the devices of the user group as a response to feeding in an update command.

25. A method according to claim 23, wherein the update data is transmitted to the devices of the user group as a response to feeding in update data related to the user group.

26. A method according to claim 23, wherein the update data is transmitted to the devices of the user group as a response to an observation that an unsynchronized device belonging to the user group enters a same coverage area as another device belonging to the user group.

27. A method according to claim 23, wherein the update data is transmitted through an established short-range connection.

28. A method according to claim 23, wherein the update data is transmitted through a radio frequency network.

29. A method for updating changing information between devices belonging to a given user group, in which method update data defined as related to said user group is received through a defined connection bus, and that the update data is saved in a receiving device or rejected, wherein the method comprises keeping register of performed data updates in a log file and recording time information of the update data.

30. A method according to claim 29, wherein received update data is processed in the receiving device.

A method according to claim 29, wherein the received update data is compared with corresponding information already existing in the receiving device, and it is updated in the receiving device only in case it is timewise more recent than the corresponding information already existing in the receiving device.

32. A method according to claim 29, wherein saved update data is confirmed by the user before it is recorded.

33. A method according to claim 29, wherein when the update data is recorded in the receiving device, a confirmation message of the recording of the update data is returned to a transmitter of the update data.

34. A computer software for updating data between devices belonging to a given user group, the computer software including

a software element for defining changing information as update data related to the user group;

a software element for transmitting the update data automatically to each device belonging to the user group through a defined connection bus;

a software element for receiving the information defined as update data through a given connection bus; and

a software element for saving the update data in the receiving device,

wherein the computer software includes a software element for keeping register of performed and not performed data updates in a log file and for recording time information of the update data.

35. A mobile device, to which data updates are receivable from devices of members of a given user group, and from which mobile device a connection is establishable with devices of the user group members, and which mobile device includes

means for receiving the data defined to be updated;

and

means for recording the received update data in the device,

wherein the mobile device includes a log file for keeping register of performed data updates and for recording time information of the update data.
