Abstract

A system and method to facilitate classification and storage of events in a network are described. An event and associated content information are received from an entity over a network. The content information is further analyzed to determine one or more themes representing subject matter related to the content information. The event is further classified according to the themes into one or more corresponding categories. Finally, the event is stored into one or more corresponding databases of a data storage module according to the one or more corresponding categories.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving an event and associated content information from an entity over a network;

analyzing said content information to determine at least one theme representing subject matter related to said content information; and

classifying said event according to said at least one theme into at least one corresponding category.

2. The method according to claim 1, further comprising:

storing said event into at least one database of a data storage module according to said at least one corresponding category.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein said at least one theme is contextually related to said content information.

4. The method according to claim 2, wherein said receiving further comprises:

receiving a web page and said associated content information over said network.

5. The method according to claim 4, wherein said analyzing further comprises:

parsing said web page and said content information; and

extracting said at least one theme.

6. The method according to claim 5, wherein said storing further comprises:

storing said web page into a content taxonomy within said at least one database.

7. The method according to claim 2, wherein said receiving further comprises:

receiving an advertisement and said associated content information over said network.

8. The method according to claim 7, wherein said analyzing further comprises:

parsing said advertisement and said content information; and

extracting said at least one theme.

9. The method according to claim 8, wherein said storing further comprises:

storing said advertisement into an advertising content taxonomy within said at least one database.

10. A system comprising:

at least one web server to receive an event and associated content information from an entity over a network; and

a processing platform coupled to said at least one web server to analyze said content information to determine at least one theme representing subject matter related to said content information, and to classify said event according to said at least one theme into at least one corresponding category.

11. The system according to claim 10, wherein said platform further stores said event into at least one database of a data storage module according to said at least one corresponding category.

12. The system according to claim 10, wherein said at least one theme is contextually related to said content information.

13. The system according to claim 11, wherein said at least one web server further receives a web page and said associated content information over said network.

14. The system according to claim 13, wherein said platform further parses said web page and said content information and extracts said at least one theme.

16. The system according to claim 11, wherein said at least one web server further receives an advertisement and said associated content information over said network.

17. The system according to claim 16, wherein said platform further parses said advertisement and said content information and extracts said at least one theme.

18. The system according to claim 17, wherein said storing further comprises:

storing said advertisement into an advertising content taxonomy within said at least one database.

19. A computer readable medium containing executable instructions, which, when executed in a processing system, cause said system to perform a method comprising:

receiving an event and associated content information from an entity over a network;

analyzing said content information to determine at least one theme representing subject matter related to said content information; and

classifying said event according to said at least one theme into at least one corresponding category.

20. The computer readable medium according to claim 19, wherein said method further comprises:

storing said event into at least one database of a data storage module according to said at least one corresponding category.

21. The computer readable medium according to claim 19, wherein said at least one theme is contextually related to said content information.

23. The computer readable medium according to claim 20, wherein:

said receiving further comprises receiving a web page and said associated content information over said network;

said analyzing further comprises;

parsing said web page and said content information; and

extracting said at least one theme.

24. The computer readable medium according to claim 23, wherein said storing further comprises:

storing said web page into a content taxonomy within said at least one database.

25. The computer readable medium according to claim 20, wherein said receiving further comprises:

receiving an advertisement and said associated content information over said network.

26. The computer readable medium according to claim 25, wherein said analyzing further comprises:

parsing said advertisement and said content information; and

extracting said at least one theme.

27. The computer readable medium according to claim 26, wherein said storing further comprises:

storing said advertisement into an advertising content taxonomy within said at least one database.
