Liner for prosthetic and orthopedic systems
First Claim
1. A liner having first and second end portions, and defining inner and outer surfaces, the liner comprising:
- a frictional layer forming at least part of the periphery of the inner surface, the frictional layer defining a plurality of apertures located along the inner surface, the frictional layer having skin tackiness properties;
a porous element in communication with the inner surface and connected to the frictional layer, the apertures of the frictional layer permitting a transfer of air from the inner surface to the porous element; and
a base layer connected to the porous element and having greater rigidity than the porous element, the base layer extending at least between the proximal and distal areas of the liner.

Abstract
A liner is arranged for use in prosthetic and orthopedic devices. The liner defines first and second end portions, and inner and outer surfaces. The liner includes an inner layer having a frictional component and forms at least part of the periphery of the inner liner surface. The inner layer defines a plurality of apertures. A porous element is in communication with the inner liner surface and is connected to the inner layer such that the apertures permit a transfer of air from the inner surface to the porous element. A base layer adjoins the porous element and extends between the first and second end portions of the liner.

18. A liner having first and second end portions, and defining inner and outer surfaces, the liner comprising:
-
a base layer extending between the first and second end portions, the base layer being moisture and vapor impervious; a porous layer connected to the base layer; and an inner layer forming at least part of the periphery of the inner surface, and connected to the porous layer, the inner layer defining a plurality of apertures providing fluid communication of the porous layer with the inner surface; wherein a portion of the porous layer channels moisture from the inner surface to at least one of the first and second end portions and out from the liner. - View Dependent Claims (19)
