1. A method for providing an interface for editing a video to include a selected advertisement comprising:
- identifying a video to be edited;
displaying a set of advertisements which may be added to the identified video;
displaying factors for each advertisement of the set of advertisements including at least one of popularity, profitability, cost per click, cost per thousand impressions, advertisement expense, conversion rate, or relevance for each advertisement from the set of advertisements;
selecting an advertisement from the set of advertisements to be displayed in the identified video based on at least one of the factors;
including the selected advertisement in the identified video; and
playing the identified video and displaying the selected advertisement during the playing of the identified video.

Abstract
A system and method are disclosed for editing a video to include an advertisement in the video. The advertisement may be inserted into the video based on the video timeline or on a frame-by-frame basis. The user may control when and how the advertisement is displayed within the video. The advertisement may be selected based on a variety of factors that may determine the effectiveness or profitability of the advertisement.

13. In a computer readable storage medium having stored therein data representing instructions executable by a programmed processor for controlling a display of an advertisement within a video, the storage medium comprising instructions operative for:

a video server configured to provide a video for display; an advertising server coupled with the video server; and an advertising database coupled with the advertising server and configured to store a set of available advertisements; wherein the advertising server comprises; a manual selector providing an interface for displaying factors for advertisement selection, the factors comprising at least one of popularity, profitability, cost per click, cost per thousand impressions, advertisement expense, conversion rate, or relevance of the advertisement; wherein the advertising server is configured to receive a selected advertisement from the set of available advertisements based on the factors and provide the selected advertisement to the video server; and further wherein the video server is configured to include the selected advertisement within the video and play the video with the embedded advertisement. - View Dependent Claims (20, 21)
