A method employable during a defined tachycardia-tachyarrhythmia condition extant in a person for detecting, verifying and distinguishing ventricular and supra-ventricular tachyarrhythmias, including ventricular fibrillation, comprisingobtaining, from the person, heart-rate information to confirm the presence of such a defined condition,on such confirmation, collecting, from the person, time-frame-simultaneous ECG and heart-sound information,following said collecting, choosing selected ECG time-span, and heart-sound intensity, data, andutilizing the chosen, selected ECG time-span, and heart-sound intensity, data, characterizing the defined condition as resulting from one of (a) supra-ventricular tachyarrhythmia, (b) ventricular tachyarrhythmia, and (c) ventricular fibrillation.
