Abstract

Apparatuses and methods for location-based visualization of geo-reference content are provided. Apparatus may include logic for causing a display of a map having at least one tag displayed therewith, and logic for causing the display of a set of content objects in response to selection of the tag, the set of content objects associated with the tag and the geographical location of the map. The content objects may be displayed in a viewing window adjacent the map and selectable by a user. The content objects may be filtered by a user, e.g., indicating that a content object is incorrectly tagged or geo-referenced. The apparatus may dynamically update the content based on user interaction. The set of tags and content objects displayed may vary based on a particular zoom level and associated tags may be displayed in response to selection of a tag and/or a content object.

Claims

1. Apparatus for causing the display of geographically referenced content, the apparatus comprising:

logic for causing a display of a map having a selectable tag displayed therewith; and

logic for causing a display of a set of content objects in response to a selection of the tag, the content associated with the tag and the geographical location of the map.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic for displaying the set of content objects in a viewing window.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic for causing a change in the display of at least one tag in response to a change in the map zoom level.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic for filtering a set of content objects based on user input associated with the content objects.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic for filtering a set of content objects based on associated metadata.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic for causing the display of associated tags in response to a selection of the tag.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic for causing the display of additional information in response to a selection of one of the displayed content objects.

10. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising logic for causing the display of an advertisement.

11. An interface for displaying geographically referenced content objects, the interface comprising:

a map display for displaying a tag map having at least one selectable tag; and

a content object window for displaying content objects associated with selected tags.

12. The interface of claim 11, wherein a set of tags is displayed with the map based on a zoom level.

13. The interface of claim 11, wherein a set of content objects may be filtered by user input associated with the content objects.

14. The interface of claim 11, wherein a set of content objects may be filtered based on associated metadata.

18. A method for causing the display of geographically referenced content objects, the method comprising:

displaying a map having a tag displayed therewith; and

displaying a set of content objects in response to a selection of the tag, the set of content objects associated with the tag and the geographical location of the map.

19. The method of claim 18, further comprising displaying the set of content objects within a display window.

20. The method of claim 18, further comprising changing the display of a tag in response to a change in zoom level.

21. The method of claim 18, further comprising filtering a set of content objects associated with a tag based on user input associated with the content objects.

22. The method of claim 18, further comprising causing the display of associated tags in response to a selection of the tag.

23. The method of claim 18, further comprising causing the display of additional information in response to a selection of one of the displayed content objects

24. The method of claim 18, further comprising causing the display of an advertisement.

25. A computer program product comprising computer executable program code for causing the display of a geographically referenced content object visualization system, the product comprising program code for causing a display of:

a map having a tag displayed therewith; and

a set of content objects in response to a selection of the tag, the set of content objects associated with the tag and the geographical location of the map.

26. The computer program product of claim 25, further comprising program code for causing a display of a viewing window for displaying the set of content objects in response to selection of the tag.

27. The computer program product of claim 25, further comprising program code for causing the display of a set of tags with the map based on zoom level.

28. The computer program product of claim 25, further comprising program code for filtering a set of content objects based on user input associated with the content objects.

29. The computer program product of claim 25, further comprising program code for causing the display of associated tags in response to a selection of the tag.

31. The computer program product of claim 25, further comprising program code for causing the display of an advertisement.
