In the multimedia device, the touchscreen is controlled to be activated and a menu that is selectable through a user touch is displayed on the touchscreen, when a user manipulation is input through a manipulating unit while the touchscreen is in an inactivated state. As a result, efficient arrangement of menus in the touchscreen is achieved.
