Abstract

A method of transmitting pilot signals in a system which performs communication using two or more earners comprises transmitting first pilots and second pilots from at least one user equipment to a base station, the first and second pilots, which are transmitted from the at least one user equipment, being multiplexed by code division multiplexing, and the first and second pilots, which are transmitted from a specific user equipment, having different transmission powers, and transmitting data from the at least one user equipment to the base station depending on the first pilots and the second pilots. Since many UEs can transmit CQ pilots, exact channel estimation can be performed and thus communication efficiency can be improved.

Claims

1. A method of transmitting pilot signals in a system which performs communication using two or more carriers, the method comprising:

transmitting first pilots and second pilots from at least one user equipment to a base station, the first and second pilots transmitted from the at least one user equipment being multiplexed by code division multiplexing, and the first and second pilots transmitted from a specific user equipment having different transmission powers; and

transmitting data from the at least one user equipment to the base station in accordance with the first pilots and the second pilots.

2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first pilots are pilot signals for measuring channel quality, and the second pilots are pilot signals for data demodulation.

The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising receiving information of transmission power of the first and second pilots from the base station, wherein the step of transmitting the first pilots and the second pilots includes transmitting the first pilots and the second pilots from the user equipment at different transmission powers in accordance with the information of the transmission power.

4. A method of transmitting pilot signals in a system which performs communication using two or more carriers, the method comprising:

transmitting first pilots and second pilots from at least one user equipment to a base station, the first and second pilots transmitted from the at least one user equipment being multiplexed by frequency division multiplexing, and the first and second pilots on a frequency axis by the frequency division multiplexing having different arrangement intervals; and

transmitting data from the at least one user equipment to the base station in accordance with the first pilots and the second pilots.

5. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein the first pilots are pilot signals for measuring channel quality, and the second pilots are pilot signals for data demodulation.

The method as claimed in claim 4, further comprising receiving information of arrangement intervals of the first and second pilots on the frequency axis from the base station, wherein the step of transmitting the first pilots and the second pilots includes transmitting the first pilots and the second pilots in accordance with the information of the arrangement intervals.

7. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein the frequency division multiplexing is a distributed-frequency division multiple access (D-FDMA).

8. A method of transmitting pilot signals in a system which performs communication using two or more carriers, the method comprising:

transmitting first pilots and second pilots from at least one user equipment to a base station, the first and second pilots transmitted from the at least one user equipment being multiplexed by frequency division multiplexing and being multiplexed by allocated codes within each frequency; and

transmitting data from the at least one user equipment to the base station in accordance with the first pilots and the second pilots.

9. The method as claimed in claim 8, wherein the first pilots are pilot signals for measuring channel quality, and the second pilots are pilot signals for data demodulation.

10. A method of transmitting pilot signals in a system which performs communication using two or more carriers, the method comprising:

transmitting first pilots and second pilots from at least one user equipment to a base station, the first and second pilots transmitted from the at least one user equipment being transmitted using period and offset based on a certain time period; and

transmitting data from the at least one user equipment to the base station in accordance with the first pilots and the second pilots.

11. The method as claimed in claim 10, wherein the first pilots are pilot signals for measuring channel quality, and the second pilots are pilot signals for data demodulation.

12. A method of transmitting pilot signals in a system which performs communication using two or more carriers, the method comprising:

transmitting first pilots and second pilots from a user equipment to a base station using at least one transmission block included in one sub-frame, the second pilots being additionally provided to the transmission block for transmission of the first pilots if data are transmitted during sub-frame where the first pilots are transmitted; and

transmitting data from the user equipment to the base station in accordance with the first pilots and the second pilots.

13. The method as claimed in claim 12, wherein the first pilots are pilot signals for measuring channel quality, and the second pilots are pilot signals for data demodulation.

14. A method of transmitting pilot signals in a system which performs communication using two or more carriers, the method comprising:

transmitting first pilots and second pilots from a user equipment to a base station using at least one transmission block included in one sub-frame, the second pilots being transmitted using a reserved radio source if the first pilots and the second pilots are transmitted during one sub-frame; and

transmitting data from the user equipment to the base station in accordance with the first pilots and the second pilots.

15. The method as claimed in claim 14, wherein the first pilots are pilot signals for measuring channel quality, and the second pilots are pilot signals for data demodulation.

16. A method of transmitting pilot signals in a system which performs communication using two or more carriers, the method comprising:

transmitting first pilots and second pilots from two or more user equipments to a base station using at least one transmission block included in one sub-frame, and if the two or more user equipments transmit the first pilots within one sub-frame, allocating a radio resource for transmission of the pilots in accordance with a transmission timing point of the pilots; and

transmitting data to the base station depending on the first pilots and the second pilots using the allocated radio resource.

17. The method as claimed in claim 16, wherein the first pilots are pilot signals for measuring channel quality, and the second pilots are pilot signals for data demodulation.

18. The method as claimed in claim 16, wherein the two or more user equipments transmit the pilots in accordance with frequency division multiplexing, and the allocated radio resource is a frequency resource multiplexed by the frequency division multiplexing.

19. The method as claimed in claim 16, wherein the two or more user equipments transmit the pilots in accordance with code division multiplexing, and the allocated radio resource is a code resource multiplexed by the code division multiplexing.
