Abstract
An emergency warning service is described for providing emergency related information to users of communication terminals in a mobile communication system. The service comprises a procedure of establishing a service agreement in relation with a user. The service agreement comprises at least an identification of a user and a time period during which period the user is allowed access to emergency warnings. After receiving an emergency warning message from an emergency warning message provider, the message comprising information at least regarding a type of emergency and an emergency location, it is decided whether or not the user is to receive the warning message. The decision is based at least on said service agreement. Then, depending on the decision, at least said warning message is transmitted to the user.
