Abstract

A digital broadcasting system and a data processing method are disclosed. A receiving system of the digital broadcasting system includes a receiving unit, an SI handler, and a decoding unit. The receiving unit receives broadcast signals including mobile service data and main service data. Herein, the mobile service data may configure a data group, and the data group may include a signaling information region in some of a plurality of data regions. Also, the signaling information region may include TPC signaling data and FIC signaling data. The SI handler acquires channel configuration information of the mobile service data from the broadcast signal using pre-decided IP access information, and extracts encoding format information for each IP stream component within a corresponding virtual channel service RTP-packetized and received from the acquired channel configuration information. The decoding unit decodes the mobile service data of the corresponding IP stream component based upon the extracted encoding format information.

Claims

1. A receiving system, comprising:

a receiving unit receiving broadcast signals including mobile service data and main service data, wherein the mobile service data configure a data group, wherein the data group includes a signaling information region in some of a plurality of regions, and wherein the signaling information region includes transmission parameter channel (TPC) signaling data and fast information channel (FIC) signaling data;

a system information (SI) handler acquiring channel configuration information of the mobile service data from the broadcast signal using pre-decided internet protocol (IP) access information, and extracting encoding format information for each IP stream component within a corresponding virtual channel service real-time transport protocol (RTP)-packetized and received from the acquired channel configuration information; and

a decoding unit decoding the mobile service data of the corresponding IP stream component based upon the extracted encoding format information.

2. The receiving system of claim 1, wherein the receiving unit further comprises:

a known sequence detector detecting a known data sequence included in the data group, and

wherein the detected known data sequence is used for demodulating and channel-equalizing the mobile service data.

3. The receiving system of claim 1, wherein the receiving unit refers to the fast information channel (FIC) signaling data so as to acquire slots including data groups requested to be received using a time-slicing method.

4. The receiving system of claim 1, wherein the channel configuration information corresponds to a service map table (SMT), and wherein the encoding format information is included in the SMT in any one of a field format and a descriptor format, thereby being received.

5. The receiving system of claim 4, wherein, when an RTP_payload_type field included in the SMT is assigned with a value within a first value range, the SI handler extracts a pre-stored encoding format information respective of the RTP_payload_type field value.

The receiving system of claim 4, wherein, when an RTP_payload_type field included in the SMT is assigned with a value within a second value range, the SI handler parses the RTP payload type descriptor matching the RTP_payload_type field value from the SMT, so as to extract the encoding format information of the corresponding IP stream component.

8. The receiving system of claim 7, wherein the second value range is between ‘

9. The receiving system of claim 7, wherein the encoding format information is included in the RTP payload type descriptor as a MIME type.

10. The receiving system of claim 7, wherein the RTP payload type descriptor is received as a component level descriptor of the SMT.

11. A method for processing data in a receiving system, comprising:

receiving broadcast signals including mobile service data and main service data, wherein the mobile service data configure a data group, wherein the data group includes a signaling information region in some of a plurality of data regions, and wherein the signaling information region includes transmission parameter channel (TPC) signaling data and fast information channel (FIC) signaling data;

acquiring channel configuration information of the mobile service data from the broadcast signal using pre-decided internet protocol (IP) access information, and extracting encoding format information for each IP stream component within a corresponding virtual channel service real-time transport protocol (RTP)-packetized and received from the acquired channel configuration information; and

decoding the mobile service data of the corresponding IP stream component based upon the extracted encoding format information.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the receiving broadcast signals further comprises:

referring to the fast information channel (FIC) signaling data so as to only acquire slots including data groups requested to be received using a time-slicing method.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein the channel configuration information corresponds to a service map table (SMT), and wherein the encoding format information is included in the SMT in any one of a field format and a descriptor format, thereby being received.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein, when an RTP_payload_type field included in the SMT is assigned with a value within a first value range, a pre-stored encoding format information respective of the RTP_payload_type field value is extracted.

15. The method of claim 13, wherein, when an RTP_payload_type field included in the SMT is assigned with a value within a second value range, the RTP payload type descriptor matching the RTP_payload_type field value is parsed from the SMT, so as to extract the encoding format information of the corresponding IP stream component.
