Abstract
Methods and apparatuses to connect telephone calls and track information about the telephone calls resulting from advertisements on mobile/wireless media channels. In one embodiment, a method includes: assigning a telephone number to an advertiser, one of the telephone number and a reference to the telephone number to be included in an advertisement provided to an end user via a wireless media; and, monitoring telephone connections to the telephone number to bill the advertiser for the advertisement in response to each telephone connection to the telephone number. In one embodiment, a method includes: a first party providing an advertisement to a mobile device on behalf of an advertiser, the advertisement to include at least a reference to a telephonic connection with the advertiser; and, the first party collecting a fee from the advertiser in response to a telephonic connection being established between the advertiser and customer.

11. A computer-implemented method, comprising:

a computer providing a first telephonic reference in an advertisement of an advertiser, the telephonic reference being different from a second telephonic reference of the advertiser; in response to a telephone call received at the first telephonic reference provided in the advertisement, identifying the second telephonic reference of the advertiser based on the first telephonic reference used to receive the telephone call; connecting the telephone call to the second telephonic reference of the advertiser identified based on the first telephonic reference used to receive the telephone call; and charging the advertiser a predetermined fee for the advertisement, in response to the connecting of the telephone call to the second telephonic reference of the advertiser identified based on the first telephonic reference provided in the advertisement of the advertiser and used to received the telephone call. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28)

means for a computer providing a first telephonic reference in an advertisement of an advertiser, the telephonic reference being different from a second telephonic reference of the advertiser; means for receiving a telephone call at the first telephonic reference provided in the advertisement; means for identifying the second telephonic reference of the advertiser based on the first telephonic reference used to receive the telephone call; means for connecting the telephone call to the second telephonic reference of the advertiser identified based on the first telephonic reference used to receive the telephone call; and means for charging the advertiser a predetermined fee for the advertisement, in response to the connecting of the telephone call to the second telephonic reference of the advertiser identified based on the first telephonic reference provided in the advertisement of the advertiser and used to received the telephone call.
