Abstract

A biodevice is in an elongated form and has a conductive layer and an insulating layer stacked on a side surface of a shaft member at the center. A cylindrical hollow section is formed through the device, being connected to the exterior at a front end and extending from this front end axially. An electrode section is formed on an inner surface. A sensing substance such as enzyme may be placed at the electrode section to detect a current value corresponding to the concentration or quantity of an object under test placed between a counter electrode and the biodevice.

Claims

1. A biodevice formed in an elongated form comprising:

a shaft member at a center position of said biodevice, said shaft member extending in an axial direction; and

a conductive layer and an insulating layer which are stacked on a side surface of said shaft member in a direction transverse to said axial direction;

wherein said biodevice has a cylindrical hollow section formed therethrough, being connected to the exterior at a front end and extending from said front end in said axial direction, said hollow section having an electrode section on an inner surface.

2. The biodevice of claim 1 wherein said electrode section is formed along said inner surface of said hollow section so as to have an approximately cylindrical surface.

3. The biodevice of claim 2 wherein said electrode section is formed by a part of said conductive layer.

4. The biodevice of claim 1 wherein said hollow section is formed such that a front end of said shaft member is disposed at an inner bottom part of said hollow section.

5. The biodevice of claim 1 adapted for use with a front end part disposed inside an organism, having a shaft diameter of 500 μ

m or less and said shaft diameter becoming smaller towards the front end part.

6. The biodevice of claim 2 wherein said hollow section contains a member that varies volume or affinity by an external stimulus.

7. A contact part structure of a biodevice which is a structure of a contact part of a device adapted to be placed in an organism, a base of said device being connected to a base end, said contact part being adapted to contact said organism;

wherein said contact part structure comprises a shaft member at a center position of said contact part, said shaft member extending in an axial direction, and a conductive layer and an insulating layer which are stacked on a side surface of said shaft member in a direction transverse to said axial direction; and

wherein said contact part structure has a cylindrical hollow section formed therethrough, being connected to the exterior at a front end and extending from said front end in said axial direction, said hollow section having an electrode section on an inner surface.

8. The contact part structure of claim 7 wherein said electrode section is formed along said inner surface of said hollow section so as to have an approximately cylindrical surface.

9. The contact part structure of claim 8 wherein said electrode section is formed by a part of said conductive layer.

10. The contact part structure of claim 7 wherein said hollow section is formed such that a front end of said shaft member is disposed at an inner bottom part of said hollow section.

11. The contact part structure of claim 7 adapted for use with a front end part disposed inside an organism, having a shaft diameter of 500 μ

m or less and said shaft diameter becoming smaller towards the front end part.

12. The contact part structure of claim 7 wherein said hollow section contains a member that varies volume or affinity by an external stimulus.

13. A biosensor which is a rod-shaped device formed in an elongated form;

wherein said rod-shaped device has a cylindrical hollow section formed therethrough, being connected to the exterior at a front end and extending from said front end in said axial direction;

wherein said hollow section has an electrode section formed on an inner surface; and

wherein a sensing substance is disposed inside said hollow section such that a front end open region of said hollow section becomes a detection region.

14. The biosensor of claim 13 having a hollow introductory space formed inside said hollow section along the axial direction of said biodevice, said introductory space not containing said sensing substance.

20. The biosensor of claim 13 wherein said rod-shaped device has a conductive layer and an insulating layer formed alternately along a direction transverse to an axial direction thereof;

and

wherein said electrode section is formed so as to have an approximately cylindrical surface along said inner surface of said hollow section.

21. The biosensor of claim 20 wherein said electrode section is formed by a part of said conductive layer.

22. The biosensor of claim 13 adapted for use with a front end part disposed inside an organism, having a shaft diameter of 500 μ

m or less and said shaft diameter becoming smaller towards the front end part.

15. A biosensor comprising a base and a contact section contacting an organism, said contact section having base end connected to said base;

wherein said contact section has a cylindrical hollow section formed therein, being connected to the exterior at a front end and extending from said front end in a direction from said front end towards said base end;

wherein said hollow section has an electrode section formed on an inner surface; and

wherein a sensing substance is disposed inside said hollow section such that a front end open region of said hollow section becomes a detection region.

16. The biosensor of claim 15 having a hollow introductory space formed inside said hollow section of said contact section, said introductory space not containing said sensing substance.

23. The biosensor of claim 15 wherein said electrode section is formed so as to have an approximately cylindrical surface along said inner surface of said hollow section.

24. The biosensor of claim 23 wherein said electrode section is formed by a part of said conductive layer.

25. The biosensor of claim 15 adapted for use with a front end part of said contact part disposed inside an organism, having a shaft diameter of 500 μ

m or less and said shaft diameter becoming smaller towards the front end.—

17. A biosensor comprising a plurality of devices in an elongated rod-shape form having an electrode section formed on an outer peripheral surface and having a throughhole extending in an axial direction;

wherein said plurality of devices have different outer diameters and are assembled in a nesting form.

18. The biosensor of claim 17 wherein said devices have a conductive layer and an insulating layer stacked in a direction transverse to said axial direction;

and

wherein said electrode section is formed by a part of said conductive lay

19. The biosensor of claim 18 wherein said device has a tubular member having a throughhole extending in an axial direction, wherein said conductive layer and said insulating layer are formed on an outer peripheral surface of said tubular member;

and

wherein the throughhole of said tubular member is said hollow section.
