Abstract

An event server running an event driven application implementing an event processing network the event processing network can include at least one processor to implement a rule an at least one input stream. Priority for parts of the event processing network can be settable by a user.

Claims

1. A computer-based event server running an event driven application implementing an event processing network, the event processing network including at least one processor to implement a rule and at least one input stream, wherein priority for parts of the event processing network can be set by a user.

2. The computer-based event server of claim 1, wherein the priority determines what part of the event processing network has priority on event processing in case events exceed the capacity of the event server.

3. The computer-based event server of claim 1, wherein the priority is set by setting the buffer sizes of input stream queries.

4. The computer-based event server of claim 1, wherein the priority is set as part of event processing network definition.

5. The computer-based event server of claim 1, wherein the priority is set using a user interface.

6. The computer-based event server of claim 1, wherein the event processing network defines the concurrent operation of at least two elements of the event processing network.

7. The computer-based ever server of claim 1, wherein the event driven application is specified by XML.

8. The computer-based event server of claim 7, wherein the XML is an extension of SPRING framework XML.

9. The computer-based event server of claim 8, wherein the Event driven network XML allows for the use of SPRING Beans.

10. The computer-based event server of claim 1, wherein processor uses rules written in an event processing language.

11. The computer-based event server of claim 1, wherein the event driven application is bundled into a JAR filed to be provided to an event server.

12. A computer readable storage medium comprising:

an event server running an event driven application implementing an event processing network the event processing network including at least one processor to implement a rule and at least one input stream, wherein priority for parts of the event processing network is settable by a user.

13. The computer readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the priority determines what part of the event processing network has priority on event processing in case events exceed the capacity of the event server.

14. The computer readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the priority is set by setting the buffer sizes of input stream queries.

15. The computer readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the priority is set as part of event processing network definition.

16. The computer readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the priority is set using a user interface.

17. The computer readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the event processing network defines the concurrent operation of at least two elements of the event processing network.

18. The computer readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the event driven application is specified by XML.

19. The computer readable storage medium of claim 18, wherein the XML is an extension of SPRING framework XML.

20. The computer readable storage medium of claim 19, wherein the Event driven network XML allows for the use of SPRING Beans.

21. The computer readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein processor uses rules written in an event processing language.

22. The computer readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the event driven application is bundled into a JAR filed to be provided to an event server.
