1. An antimicrobial composition, comprising:
- a. an amount of water;
b. an amount of diacetone alcohol mixed with said amount of water by volume, said amount of diacetone alcohol sufficient in the mixture by volume to allow said amount of water to evaporate from the mixture at a greater rate than said amount of diacetone alcohol, and wherein the mixture provides greater than a 2-log10 order reduction in a population of viable microorganisms over a duration of time of not greater than thirty minutes.
