Abstract

A voice signal is processed and connected by wire to a mobile wireless unit for further processing into time division multiple access (TDMA) and into spread spectrum signals. The wireless unit is processing a data signal into orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) signal. The wireless unit receives and processes a position finder signal from Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite and from land based transmitter and provides processed position finder signals. The wireless unit generates a processed touch screen control signal and processes the touch screen control signal with processed position finder, TDMA and spread spectrum signal or with processed OFDM signal and provides these processed signals to a transmitter for wireless signal transmission. The processed OFDM signal is used in a Wi-Fi wireless network and the TDMA or spectrum signal is used in a cellular system, wherein the wireless network and the cellular system are distinct. Processing of position finder signal incorporates step of receiving and processing a signal from Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite and from land based transmitter and for providing processed position finder signals received from GPS satellite and from land based transmitters for transmission. Processed TDMA or spread spectrum signals include code division multiple access (CDMA) and code selectable cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals. Modulation and amplification structures and methods of the hybrid wired and wireless systems include amplification by non-linearly amplified (NLA) and by linearly amplified transmitters.

Claims

1. A method, comprising steps of:

processing a voice signal and for providing processed voice signal by a wire to a mobile unit;

processing said processed voice signal into processed TDMA and spread spectrum signal;

processing a data signal into processed OFDM signal;

processing a received signal and for providing a processed position finder signal;

processing a signal generated by touch screen operation into processed touch screen control signal; and

receiving and processing said processed touch screen control signal with processed position finder signal and with processed TDMA and spread spectrum signal or with processed OFDM signal and providing said received processed signal to a transmitter for wireless signal transmission.

The method of claim 1, wherein said providing processed voice signal by a wire to a mobile unit is provided by a wired connection to a connector, wherein said connector is part of said mobile unit, said unit comprising a cellular subscriber unit (SU) and transmitter, wherein said transmitter comprises a first transmit amplifier for non-linearly amplified transmission of processed TDMA signal and a second transmit amplifier for linearly amplified transmission of processed spread spectrum signal, wherein said first and second amplifier is operated in distinct radio frequency bands and wherein said processing a received signal and for providing a processed position finder signal comprises step of receiving and processing a signal from Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite and from land based transmitter and for providing processed position finder signals received from GPS satellite and from land based transmitters for transmission.

The method of claim 1, wherein said processed touch screen control signal controls selection of provided processed TDMA or spread spectrum or OFDM signal to said transmitter for transmission and said providing processed voice signal by a wire to a mobile unit comprises step of providing a control signal by wired connection for control of said mobile unit and wherein said processed OFDM signal is used in a Wi-Fi wireless network and said TDMA or spectrum signal is used in a cellular system, wherein said wireless network and said cellular system are distinct and said method further comprises processing and providing processed location finder signal received from at least two satellite transmitters and from at least two land based transmitters, wherein said received signals from satellite transmitters are received in different radio frequency bands than said signals received from said land based transmitters and said processed TDMA or spread spectrum signal comprises code selectable cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase Time Constrained Signal (TCS) wavelet processed and Long Response (LR) filtered baseband signals.

The method of claim 1, wherein said processed spread spectrum signal comprises cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) signal and said transmitter for transmission comprises a non-quadrature modulator and a quadrature modulator, wherein said non-quadrature modulator is used for modulation and transmission of said processed TDMA signal, said quadrature modulator is used for modulation and transmission of said processed CDMA signal and said non-quadrature and quadrature modulators are distinct modulators, said method further comprising step of amplification of said processed TDMA signal by an amplifier operated in a non-linearly amplified (NLA) mode and amplification of said processed CDMA signal and said processed OFDM signal by amplifier operated in a linearly amplified mode.

The method of claim 1, comprising steps of processing and providing processed position finder signal received from Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite and providing processed position finder signal received from land based cellular transmitters, wherein said received signals from GPS satellite transmitters are received in different radio frequency bands than said signals received from said land based transmitters and said providing processed signal to a transmitter for transmission comprises steps of quadrature modulation and of non-quadrature modulation, wherein said processed signal is quadrature modulated and said processed TDMA and spread spectrum signal comprises a time division multiple access (TDMA) and a distinct Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) processed signal and said TDMA signal is transmitted by a transmit amplifier operated in a first radio frequency (RF) band in a non-linearly amplified (NLA) mode and said CDMA signal and said processed OFDM signal is transmitted by a transmit amplifier operated in a linearly amplified (LINA) mode.

The method of claim 1, comprising steps of processing, transmit filtering and modulating said processed TDMA signal into processed filtered cross-correlated shaped in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals and of receiving, demodulating and processing of a modulated transmitted signal, wherein said demodulating of a modulated transmitted signal comprises demodulation and post demodulation filtering by a filter which is mismatched to the corresponding transmit filtering of said cross-correlated signals and for providing filtered cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband demodulated signals.

The method of claim 1, further comprising steps of touch screen control and signal selection for selected signal transmission by said transmitter for transmission of one or more of a Frequency Hopped Spread Spectrum (FH-SS) signal, a orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) signal, a time division multiple access (TDMA) signal or a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) signal, wherein said TDMA and CDMA signal is used in a cellular system and said OFDM signal in a wireless network, wherein said cellular system and said wireless network are distinct and said FH-SS and TDMA signal is amplified by a non-linearly amplified system and said CDMA and OFDM signal by a linearly amplified system and comprising step of providing a control signal by wired connection for control of said mobile unit and control of said cellular system and said wireless network wherein said processed TDMA or spread spectrum signal comprises code selectable cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase Time Constrained Signal (TCS) wavelet processed and Long Response (LR) filtered baseband signals.

The method of claim 1, comprising steps of receiving and processing a Bluetooth transmitted signal into a received processed Bluetooth baseband signal and providing said processed Bluetooth baseband signal for processing into a processed TDMA or spread spectrum signal and providing said processed TDMA or spread spectrum signal to a first non-linearly amplified amplifier and to a second linearly amplified amplifier for signal amplification and transmission.

The method of claim 1, comprising steps of touch screen control of cascaded wireless and wired multimode systems and touch screen control of selecting a processed position finder signal received from Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite or from land based transmitter and for providing processed position finder signals received from GPS satellite or from land based transmitters for transmission.

10. A communication system comprising:

a processor and wire for processing a first signal and connecting through said wire processed first signal to a cellular device;

a processor for processing said processed first signal into processed FDM or TDM or spread spectrum signal;

a processor for processing a second signal into processed OFDM signal;

a processor for processing a third signal and for providing a processed position finder signal;

a processor for processing a touch screen generated signal into processed touch screen control signal; and

a processor for receiving and processing said processed touch screen control signal with processed position finder signal with processed FDM or TDM or spread spectrum signal or with processed OFDM signal and providing;

said received processed signal to a transmitter for transmission in a cellular system.

The system of claim 10, wherein said TDM or spread spectrum signal comprises shaped and filtered cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals used in time division multiple access (TDMA) or in Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems and wherein said TDMA and CDMA signal is used in a cellular system and said OFDM signal in a wireless network, wherein said cellular system and said wireless network are distinct.

The system of claim 10, comprising steps of receiving and processing a Bluetooth transmitted signal into a received processed Bluetooth baseband signal and providing said processed Bluetooth baseband signal for processing into a processed TDMA or spread spectrum signal and providing said processed TDMA or spread spectrum signal to a first non-linearly amplified amplifier and to a second linearly amplified amplifier for signal amplification and transmission and wherein said processed touch screen control signal provides launching of a browser, said processed Bluetooth signal comprises processed baseband signals used in Frequency Hopped Spread Spectrum (FH-SS) system, said TDM or spread spectrum signal comprises filtered cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals used in time division multiple access (TDMA) or in Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems and wherein said TDMA and CDMA signal is used in a cellular system and said OFDM signal in a wireless network, wherein said cellular system and said wireless network are distinct and said communication system further comprises a processor for processing and providing processed location finder signal received from a satellite transmitter and from a land based transmitter, wherein said received signal from satellite transmitter is received in different radio frequency bands than said signal received from said land based transmitter.

The system of claim 10, wherein said processed TDM or spread spectrum signal comprises filtered cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) baseband signals and said transmitter for transmission comprises a non-quadrature modulator and a quadrature modulator, wherein said non-quadrature and said quadrature modulators are distinct modulators.

The system of claim 10, wherein said system comprises a processor for processing and providing processed location finding signals received from multiple GPS satellites and processed location finding signals received from land based cellular transmitters, wherein said received signals from satellite transmitters are received in different radio frequency bands than said signals received from said land based transmitters and said transmitter for transmission comprises a quadrature modulator for quadrature modulation and a non-quadrature modulator for non quadrature modulation and a first transmit amplifier operated in a first radio frequency (RF) band in a linearly amplified (LINA) mode for amplification of the quadrature modulated signal and a second transmit amplifier operated in a second radio frequency (RF) band for amplification of said non-quadrature modulated signal, wherein the second RF band is different from the first RF band and said second amplifier is operated in a non-linearly amplified (NLA) mode.

The system of claim 10, wherein said system further comprises a processor, transmit filter and modulator for processing, filtering and modulating said processed TDM or spread spectrum signal into processed filtered cross-correlated shaped in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals and of receiving, demodulating and processing of a modulated transmitted signal, wherein said demodulating of a modulated transmitted signal comprises demodulation and post demodulation filtering by a filter which is mis-matched to the corresponding transmit filter used for filtering of said cross-correlated signals.

16. The problem of simpler more efficient operation of wired and wireless communication and of position finding systems is solved by an invention, having a processor and wire for processing and connecting through a wire a processed signal to a wireless device, said invention comprising steps of:

processing a first signal and for providing processed first signal by a wire to a mobile unit;

processing said processed first signal into processed TDMA or spread spectrum signal;

processing a data signal into processed OFDM signal;

processing a received signal and for providing a processed position finder signal;

processing a signal generated by touch screen operation into processed touch screen control signal; and

receiving and processing said processed touch screen control signal with processed position finder signal and with processed TDMA or spread spectrum signal or with processed OFDM signal and providing said received processed signal to a transmitter for wireless signal transmission.

The invention of claim 16, wherein said processed touch screen signal provides direct control to launch browsers from a screen, by touching said screen and said invention comprising a received processed Frequency Hopped Spread Spectrum (FH-SS) signal, and said processed OFDM signal is a frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) signal used in a wireless network and said TDMA or spread spectrum signal is used in a cellular system.

The invention of claim 16, comprising steps of receiving a modulated Frequency Hopped Spread Spectrum (FH-SS) voice signal, demodulating and processing said received signal into processed voice signal and providing said processed voice signal for processing and modulation into a time division multiple access (TDMA) processed modulated signal for processed modulated signal transmission.

The invention of claim 16, comprising steps of processing, transmit filtering and modulating said processed TDMA signal into processed cross-correlated shaped filtered in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signals and of receiving, demodulating and processing of a TDMA modulated transmitted signal, wherein said demodulating of a modulated TDMA transmitted signal comprises demodulation and post demodulation filtering by a filter which is mismatched to the corresponding transmit filter of said cross-correlated signals and for providing filtered cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband demodulated signals.

The invention of claim 16, comprising steps of receiving, demodulating and processing a Frequency Hopped Spread Spectrum (FH-SS) modulated voice signal, providing said demodulated and processed FH-SS signal into a CDMA processor and modulator for CDMA processing and modulating said CMA processed signal, wherein said CDMA processed signal comprises cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase shaped and filtered baseband signal.
