1. A method for customer information management which utilizes a vehicle-based digital communications system to send and receive information between a vehicle owner or operator and a service provider comprising:
- a vehicle equipped with a digital communications system capable of communicating with a digital communications carrier, said system also in communication at predetermined intervals with said vehicle operator or owner, said vehicle further provided with an on-board diagnostics sub-system, said sub-system in communication with said digital communications system; and
a customer information management and analysis controller, said controller in communication with said carrier enabling communication with said communications system and said diagnostics sub-system, enabling said controller to send and receive information between said owner or operator and said service provider.
