Abstract

A method, system, and medium related to workgroup voicemail. The method may include receiving a workgroup voicemail for a call placed to a callable workgroup; providing a workgroup message waiting signal to a communication device associated with a member of the callable workgroup; and displaying a workgroup message waiting indication at the communication device associated with the callable workgroup member in response to the workgroup message waiting signal, the workgroup message waiting indication being distinct from a personal message waiting indication associated with the callable workgroup member.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving a workgroup voicemail for a call placed to a callable workgroup;

providing a workgroup message waiting signal to a communication device associated with a member of the callable workgroup; and

displaying a workgroup message waiting indication at the communication device associated with the callable workgroup member in response to the workgroup message waiting signal, the workgroup message waiting indication being distinct from a personal message waiting indication associated with the callable workgroup member.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the workgroup message waiting indication is 0one of an audible indicator, a visual indicator, and a combination of an audible indicator and a visual indicator.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

accessing the workgroup voicemail by the callable workgroup member; and

deactivating the displaying of workgroup message waiting indication in response to the accessing of the workgroup voicemail by the callable workgroup member.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the workgroup message waiting indication is automatically displayed at the communication device associated with the callable workgroup member in response to the workgroup message waiting signal.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

creating a record indicative of the workgroup voicemail message; and

storing the record of the workgroup voicemail message.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the callable workgroup includes a plurality of callable workgroup members, each associated with a communication device.

7. The method of claim 6, further comprising displaying the workgroup message waiting indication at more than one of the plurality of communication devices associated with the plurality callable workgroup members.

8. The method of claim 6, further comprising:

accessing the workgroup voicemail by one of the plurality of the callable workgroup members; and

deactivating the displaying of workgroup message waiting indication in response to the accessing of the workgroup voicemail by the one of the plurality of the callable workgroup members.

9. A system comprising:

a voicemail management device to receive a workgroup voicemail for a call placed to a callable workgroup and to provide a workgroup message waiting signal; and

a communication device associated with a member of the callable workgroup, the communication device to receive the workgroup message waiting signal and display a workgroup message waiting indication, in response to the workgroup message waiting signal, that is distinct from a personal message waiting indication associated with the callable workgroup member.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the workgroup message waiting indication is one of an audible indicator, a visual indicator, and a combination of an audible indicator and a visual indicator.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the workgroup message waiting indication is automatically displayed at the communication device associated with the callable workgroup member in response to the workgroup message waiting signal.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the callable workgroup includes a plurality of callable workgroup members, each associated with a communication device.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the workgroup message waiting indication is displayed at more than one of the plurality of communication devices associated with the plurality callable workgroup members.

14. A medium having machine readable program instruction stored thereon, the medium comprising:

instructions to receive a workgroup voicemail for a call placed to a callable workgroup;

instructions to provide a workgroup message waiting signal to a communication device associated with a member of the callable workgroup; and

instructions to display a workgroup message waiting indication at the communication device associated with the callable workgroup member in response to the workgroup message waiting signal, the workgroup message waiting indication being distinct from a personal message waiting indication associated with the callable workgroup member.

15. The medium of claim 14, wherein the workgroup message waiting indication is one of an audible indicator, a visual indicator, and a combination of an audible indicator and a visual indicator.

16. The medium of claim 14, further comprising:

instructions to access the workgroup voicemail by the callable workgroup member; and

instructions to deactivate the display of workgroup message waiting indication in response to the accessing of the workgroup voicemail by the callable workgroup member.

17. The medium of claim 14, wherein the workgroup message waiting indication is automatically displayed at the communication device associated with the callable workgroup member in response to the workgroup message waiting signal.

18. The medium of claim 14, wherein the callable workgroup includes a plurality of callable workgroup members, each associated with a communication device.

19. The medium of claim 18, further comprising instructions to display the workgroup message waiting indication at more than one of the plurality of communication devices associated with the plurality callable workgroup members.

20. The medium of claim 18, further comprising:

instructions to access the workgroup voicemail by one of the plurality of the callable workgroup members; and

instructions to deactivate the displaying of workgroup message waiting indication in response to the accessing of the workgroup voicemail by the one of the plurality of the callable workgroup members.
