Abstract

A visualization system that generates visual mash-ups for industrial automation includes a ash-up component that combines output from a subset of disparate sources into a common interface. The disparate sources include at least one of equipment, computers, or devices within an industrial automation environment. A visualization component generates and displays a mash-up visualization that includes information associated with the common interface.

Claims

1. A visualization system that generates visual mash-ups for industrial automation, comprising:

a mash-up component that combines output from a subset of disparate sources into a common interface, the disparate sources comprise at least one of equipment, computers, or devices within an industrial automation environment; and

a visualization component that generates and displays a mash-up visualization that includes information associated with the common interface.

2. The system of claim 1, further comprising a data store that stores at least one of:

source address, filters, classifiers, preferences, profiles, design layout information, rules, or historical data in connection with generation and execution of the mash-up.

3. The system of claim 1, comprising a binding component that binds information from different sources so that an aggregate of information from the various sources appears as if it is coming from a single source.

4. The system of claim 1, the mash-up component can embed functionality from one of the sources in a display object associated with a different source.

5. The system of claim 1, the visualization component can be selectively set size of display objects, interface components, or functionality components to optimize an interface given a set of conditions.

6. The system of claim 1, the visualization component can dynamically configure display objects, interface components, or functionality components to optimize an interface given a set of conditions.

7. The system of claim 3, wherein the binding component can bind program variables to data from outside sources.

8. The system of claim 1 comprising a stitching component can dynamically combine multiple images or web pages to produce a panorama or larger image.

9. The system of claim 1, the stitching component can analyze translation and rotation between any two sequencing images.

10. The system of claim 1, comprising an optimization component arranges items or objects within the mash-up to optimize the mash-up in connection with desired goals or uses.

11. The system of claim 10, the optimization component dynamically repositions, re-sizes, re-orients, or displays objects as a function of determined or inferred user preferences, needs, priorities, or goals.

12. The system of claim 11, the optimization component includes an artificial intelligence (AI) based machine learning system (MLS) that is explicitly or implicitly train to take automated actions in accordance with particular events, states, conditions, extrinsic information, or on-going actions.

13. The system of claim 1, the visualization component configures the mash-up as a function of determined or inferred user preferences, user needs, administrative settings, security settings, user roles, or user state.

14. A computer-implemented method for generating visual mash-ups for industrial automation, comprising:

receiving display objects, the display objects corresponding to at least one of equipment, computers, or devices within an industrial automation environment;

analyzing and binding the display objects;

generating a mash-up of a subset of the display objects; and

if a conflict exists between display objects, resolving the conflict and continue generating the mash-up.

15. The method of claim 14, comprising determining attributes of the display objects, the attributes comprising data rate, resolution requirements, types, formatting, sources, underlying code, and compatibility issues.

16. The method of claim 14, comprising incorporating new display objects into an existing mash-up.

17. The method of claim 14, comprising integrating a received mash-up with an existing mash-up.

18. The method of claim 14, comprising transmitting the mash-up to a 3^rd party via e-mail, wherein the transmitted mash-up will auto-configure on the 3^rd party'"'"'s computer.

19. A visualization system that generates visual mash-ups for industrial automation, comprising:

means for combining output from a subset of disparate sources into a common interface, the disparate sources comprise at least one of equipment, computers, or devices within an industrial automation environment;

means for generating and displaying a mash-up visualization that includes information associated with the common interface;

means for storing at least one of;

source address, filters, classifiers, preferences, profiles, design layout information, rules, or historical data in connection with generation and execution of the mash-up; and

means for binding information from different sources so that an aggregate of information from the various sources appears as if it is coming from a single source.

20. The system of claim 19 comprising means for dynamically configuring display objects, interface components, or functionality components to optimize an interface given a set of conditions.
