Abstract

A method of reducing the load of at least one engine arranged in an hydraulic excavator during a speed overload situation of a respective engine, includes reducing a delivery quantity of at least one hydraulic secondary consumer until the respective engine has been returned to a desired operational speed range.

Claims

1. A method of reducing a load of at least one engine, arranged in an hydraulic excavator during a speed overload situation of a respective engine, comprising:

reducing a delivery quantity of at least one hydraulic secondary consumer until the respective at least one engine has been returned to a desired operational speed range.

The method according to claim 1, wherein a delivery quantity of the respective secondary consumer is lowered by a predetermined amount, relative to a total pumping capacity of the secondary consumer, and that once the delivery quantity of the secondary consumer has been lowered by said amount, reducing a delivery quantity of at least one hydraulic main consumer by a predetermined share of a delivery quantity of the at least one hydraulic main consumer.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the respective secondary consumer comprises an axial piston pump with adjustable delivery quantity, for which the delivery quantity is lowered by a predetermined amount.

4. The method according to claim 2, wherein the respective main consumer is a high-pressure axial piston pump, for which the delivery quantity is reduced.

5. The method according to claim 2, further comprising activating-the respective consumer with pressure-proportional valves or servo valves.

6. The method according to claim 1, wherein the at least one engine is an internal combustion engine.

7. The method according to claim 1, wherein the at least one secondary consumer comprises an operating pump.

8. The method according to claim 2, wherein at least one hydraulic main consumer comprises a main operating pump.
